You, the CEO of a private luxury car part business, have been given Murrey Motors' finest Chevron and an infinite budget and you have been asked to make it as prestigious and as comfortable as possible.
MM Chevron - Rev0.lua
(76.33 KiB) Downloaded 245 times

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

How this will work:
Attached at the top of this post is the file for a "Chevron" from "Murrey Motors", you have to download that car and make it as prestigious and as comfortable as possible (stat wise). You have no limit on production units or total cost. You have until the 15th of December.
Once I have your finished product, I will look at the "Prestige" and the "Comfort" stat and add the two values together and that will be your score. For example, the car when stock has 32.8 comfort and 11.8 prestige, those added together give you a score of 44.6. However, that isn't the only way you can get points...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Extra Points:
Extra points will be awarded for the following things:
    Best fuel mileage: 5 points
    Fastest car: 5 points
    Most powerful engine: 3 points
    Slowest car: 3.5 points
    Least powerful engine: 2 points
Fastest car around the Airfield track: 5 points
    Cheapest TOTAL cost: 4 points
Most expensive TOTAL cost: 4 points
Best looking car: 5 points (explained further down below)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Best looking car:
After all the entries are in, I will open a poll and will post photos of all of the cars here and you will have the opportunity to judge which one you prefer (looks wise). The winner of that will receive a further 5 points.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

What you can and can't do:
You can:
    Change all fixtures
    Change the current engine
    Modify the current engine
    Use quality sliders
Use modded fixtures, I will tell you if there's a problem with your car though
You can't:
Completely remake the body. You MUST use the body I have provided you with, however (again), you can change all fixtures.
(Needless to say) Mod the car with LUA and such.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

How I want you to send your entry and name your car:
Please name your car like this: "Username - Car Nickname", for example mine would be "Microwave - Chevron V8" or something like that. (I hope you understand that...)
Please send your entry like this:
Username -
[Car file]
Car nickname -

Again, you have until December the 15th to submit your car. If there is any problems with the rules and such, do not be afraid to PM me or post something in this thread. Good luck and happy building

TBH the premise isn't that exciting; make a small, underpowered hatch into a small, overpriced luxury hatch. I made something and entered because I had some spare time but I'd hardly call it something to I felt I had to rush into. This is not to imply any criticism of you or your interests rather it is a reflection of my own interests.

Something you could look at for future reference is the way the Comrade Cup was handled. The original premise was well presented with an engaging backstory and some interesting targets to hit without making a big deal about rules. We're all different so I'm not asking you to slavishly copy anything but looking at other, highly subscribed, competitions can help you to understand where you may or may not have come up short. Just remember that you deserve credit for having a go at making a competition in the first place so don't worry, keep up the good work and smile! :D

Ok, going to cancel this and plan something much better and more race related. Sorry HighOctaneLove and Niall(?). Hopefully you people may enjoy my next idea much more.

Yeah I was considering what to do for a much smaller tournament idea, and realised luxury doesn't resonate well here. I think its mainly to do with the fact that a) its not as conceptually exciting b) we have less measurements and parameters than for speed and performance. That, and costs. I'm guessing that would be why races and bang for your buck tournaments are the most popular, with design tournaments starting to gain traction.

A valiant effort though, which helped me mold my own decisions!

Next idea is much more exciting, it's completely unrelated and perhaps not very original but its better
