Automation Touring Car Championship [FINAL RESULTS]

Hey guys,

I've been pondering for a long time about doing a championship of mine. Now, I settled on this format, the Touring Car Championship.

Image

Touring car races are some of the closest and most interesting to watch, with great disputes between drivers. That is all due to the regulations, which require the cars to be based on road-legal cars, and yet they are free enough to go crazy about it. This first 1996 season will be raced on 10 tracks, all around the world. The results will be posted every two days or so.

Rules

Image
All bodies available in 1996 are allowed, except for the mid-engined ones.

Scoring

The scoring will be set to replicate famous motorsport competitions around the world and will scale up with the number of participants.
It will be based only on the lap times of those tracks, flying laps will be used when available.

  • 1st - 24 points
  • 2nd - 21 points
  • 3rd - 19 points
  • 4th - 17 points
  • 5th - 16 points
  • 6th - 15 points
  • 7th - 14 points
  • 8th - 13 points
  • 9th - 12 points
  • 10th - 11 points
  • 11th - 10 points
  • 12th - 9 points
  • 13th - 8 points
  • 14th - 7 points
  • 15th - 6 points
  • 16th - 5 points
  • 17th - 4 points
  • 18th - 3 points
  • 19th - 2 points
  • 20th - 1 point
Submission Format

  • Please, name your car as ATCC-Username, with no spaces (example: ATCC-Leonardo9613)
  • Send the .lua file via PM with the following information:
      Code:
    Username: [username]
    Car name: [Car name]
    Nationality: [Nationality]

Image
If you have sent your entry, but your car isn't on the list, there must be some problem with it. Either it doesn't meet the regulations or the file doesn't work on my computer. If I haven't PM'ed you back, to tell what the problem is, tell me, it could have gotten lost in the middle of all my private messages.

Re: Automation Touring Car Championship

Sounds really interesting, getting an old BRC vibe from it :)
Does the car body require a 4-door saloon?
Time to get off my lazy ass and participate in more competitions.

You can use any front-engined body that is available in 1996.

About the BRC vibe, I might have had access to Bayer's templates when designing those pictures ;)

Brace yourself for a CRX body invasion in that case ;)

I meant regulations-wise, but now that you say it... :P

Yes, they need to be B1418 compatible, there have been many changes between builds and it wouldn't be fair to race cars designed now with ones made in older builds.

NormanVauxhall had given me the heads up on that. Well, may the best CRX win then :P

However, I would try to make the cars look interesting, there will be some sort of visual presentation of the entries.

Re: Automation Touring Car Championship

I was more referring to using aftermarket grills/vents. If there is a visual presentation I would like to sport the 'hottest' new grill on the mod market

All mods are supported, if there are any errors, I'll tell you and ask which mods have been used, so I can download them. But I think I have them all, so there shouldn't be any problems.
