Season 3 - Round 4 (closed)

Gentlemen, build some engines! The very final round of season 3 has just started!
Again, there are two themes for you:

1958 F1
Build a powerful, max. 2500 cc engine for a car which can win the constructors championship. But pure performance (Pure Performance Index) is not everything that counts. Have in mind that the drivers must not crash too many cars and that the engines should stay alive at least in some races. ;) Everything will add up to the cost of the season for your team.

2020 Micro Fuel Saver
The price tag for fuel has skyrocketed, but there is still the need for small fuel powered/hybrid vehicles which can cover long distances. Prove a point by building a high-tech fuel saver for a small production series. The price does not have to be extremely low, but the car should not be a concept car either.

For those new to the challenge and those who forgot:

READ THE GUIDELINE

This is the new spreadsheet for the last round.

Send the engine files via PM to me (not Pyrlix) in this season! Please name the files in this structure: Theme-Name, for example "1958 F1-Der Bayer" That makes stuff easier for me.

Have fun and may the votes be with you!

The engine failure calculation for the F1 theme seems to be rubbish as it is right now. Considering every car does ~5500 km in a year, and it currently say that an engine that should be able to run two full seasons will break 3.3 times each year. I know it's Mean Time Between Failure, but still, that should only mean that the engine at "most" breaks one time to to a faulty component.

Nope, Automation doesn't give you MTBF for full engine load, so it needs to be much stricter/harder a limit in this calculation Martin does. Or do you cruise in your F1 car for the most part?

That's exactly what I intended. Racing is not street cruising. And I needed to tweak the MTBF because it would have been a real pain if 0.1mm of stroke made the difference between exploding or not.

For the F1 cars Range ISNT important it has to last a max of 800km and I went out and built a great race engine :)

What about economy in F1 cars? Better economy means less time in the pits.

That is considered in the calculation for the overall performance already. :)

Thanks for participating and voting, I hope you all had fun! I tried to make different themes so that the taste of everyone was met at some point. Post your feedback, ideas or some other stuff! It's very much appreciated!
There will be a little break for the challenges, but I guess you will have enough fun with the coming update! Stay tuned for further announcements about future TEC on the forums!

Hey!

Thank you for all your votes and trust in Banhammer Inc. We know that the recent events in the last theme weren't in our favor, but we always gave you the best engines possible. This victory and very big success will make Banhammer Inc. (or Banhammer Cars - its your preference) one of the Top4 Manufactors worldwide.

Banhammer Cars - hammering even in your town.

Thanks to Der_Bayer making this season for me! Big thanks to your hard work so i could participate once :)
