Go The Distance Leaderboards

Inspired by an old question asked on reddit, I will be hosting a leaderboard based on this:
‘If the fastest vehicle produced each year was put on an infinitely straight track on the first day of the year it was produced, and raced at its top speed indefinitely, which car would currently be in the lead?’

Any car entered is placed on the start line the year it is produced and is driven at top speed indefinitely.

To discourage gas guzzling monsters fuel will effect the results. (although it is very minimal compared to other factors)

The end year is 2020 where the total distance will be measured

Any year is allowed for your car, although keep in mind the earlier the year the better the head start!

Post your top speed in km/h and your economy in L/100km (for easier calculation)

Please limit yourselves to having at least 25 score in any market category (after all it does say produced)

Past these guidelines anything goes!

Things to Remember
1.) Minimum 25 in any market
    2.) Fuel tank is 60L
    3.) Refueling is 37.9L/min

as an example lets say a car starts in 1975 goes 200 km/h and does 12 L/100km
calculations say it should spend 390,000 hours on the road and drive a distance of 78,016,611.0 km

Leaderboard
  Code:
1.) phale, 1975 Hypercar - Dragster Edition,              140,774,345.4 km
2.) TR8R, 1940 Start - Enduro,                            118,391,732.2 km
3.) Madrias, Storm Prince - Final Run Edition,            110,905,808.2 km
4.)
5.)

Do we need to send you the cars or just to post the screenshots with the stats?
Stable or beta? :)

Screenshots are just fine.

Feel free to use either, although mention which version of the game you use.

Re: Go The Distance Leaderboards

Surely for this you'd want to use the actual fuel economy at the top speed of the car? You'd just have to derive it from the economy figures in the engine file, as packbat has explained elsewhere.

Re: Go The Distance Leaderboards

As this is just a leaderboard I don't want to do anything fancy. If I was doing a more complicated project and having people export cars it would be a consideration.

Besides the difference between 12 and 24 l/100km is about 1 million km so its not a huge distance to worry about. The limitation is mostly there to keep things realistic.

Re: Go The Distance Leaderboards

okay i dont get how the fuel tank limitation works. the original question was assuming infinite fuel.

what does it mean that i only have 60L fuel tank and the refuel speed?

Re: Go The Distance Leaderboards

You have a 60L fuel tank.

It takes 1 minute to fill it with 37.9L of fuel.

You run out, you stop and you refill......until you get to 2020 (or the end of 2020)

Refil time will be deducted from the driving time, which will give you the distance travelled.

Re: Go The Distance Leaderboards

I suppose I could have been clearer.

All I do is run a recursive function in excel, it takes the time -> gets distance -> gets gets fuel used -> gets time needed to refuel -> and loops back to get distance again.

All I wanted to stop was cars that would spend more time refueling than driving from being dominant. The 60l fuel tank just describes the amount in the car at the start.

Sorry for being confusing.
