So I'm done with my builds. Boss Motorsports 93 is pretty much the same as it was with some fine tuning to extract the rest of the money and weight I had left over when I hurriedly sent it in for the first test. It makes more power and should be as efficient. It also will use less tires as I reduced camber while increasing lap times by almost a full second. I'm hoping that car will be consistently fast between scheduled pit stops. This will probably be my build style for BRC76, absent some huge rule change or car #73 blowing #93 out of the water.

The second* Boss Motorsports car, #73, is a copy of #93's body with a turbocharged Ford 400 CI engine with DOHC heads. The thing is a thirsty beast, but it's fast. Like just shy of 200 MPH fast. It returns much faster track times than #93, but it will be lucky to last 20 minutes on a tank of fuel. I hope I did my math right is all I'm saying. This car should be near the top of the leader board until pit stops. Then all bets are off. I went a little more aggressive on camber because tires are the least of my concern with such a rich fuel mixture, so I'm interested to see how long I can run with the 2:20.XX (and below) crowd.

*This is really the 3rd Boss Motorsports Car, hence BMR 9303, because I scrapped 9302 after disappointing returns during tuning following the test session. However, since we're in the same event and 9302 used #73, I wanted to keep the in-house company numbering continuous for RP purposes.

looking at the graph for engine size/weight ratio it might turn out well for you. heavier cars with bigger engines might have the edge on this one

Mid-late pack is now where I expect my car to place, with a time just south of 2:23.90.

Hahaha, good to see there's more of us. @2.59.99 it BARELY squeezes below the limit, and a whooping 59hp will never scare anyone. BUT, it will use less than 13kg/h of fuel if my calculations are correct.

Also, is there anyone else that have gone full Pyrlix and made a FF car for this event? I got mine down to 2.21.17 in game with NA (was better in BROBOT, 2.19.xx in the best of 20 lap test), but still missing over 2s on my FR and the ecosportster took the spot of the FF

Heh, that's cool! 4 cars in the eco competition. I think we should make up some points system for our slow "sub category" race.

Maybe: 100 * LapsCompleted / FuelPerLapInKG / BestLapTimeInSeconds

So: more laps is better, lower fuel per lap is better and faster laps are better. I would take on the job of tracking the entries. Maybe even my main car would qualify for this.

Example calculation:

~145 seconds for good cars to complete a lap including some rain and pit stops.
~180 seconds for our cars to complete a lap on average.

So we'll get ~120 laps out of the 148 (not too slow! *cough* )

Eco Car: 100 * 120 / 0.5 / 180 = 133.3
Normal (but eco): 100 * 145 / 1.5 / 145 = 66.7

The only requirement would be a fastest lap of less than 3 min. We'll see how it goes, and hope not too many people bump into us.

One of my cars is an "eco" car. No to the extent of some people. Its got a fairly good I6 engine and gets a halfway decent time. I think it will do 30 to 35 laps between fueling stops. Less then 3% tire wear in 20 laps as well.

Hmm ... I think I'd take the under on over/under 35. I figure we'll probably see five to ten engine failures in the field and several collisions, but I don't expect a huge amount of door-to-door racing, and that's what really drives collisions.
