that doesn't really say sanything riso, you're just stating a random car, without stating what it was compared to/competing against

Re: BRC QuER - Hockenheim 1000 km 1976 [WAIT]

Well, the user wondered if a 5.7L, 1200kg car is a plausible race car, and the response was a 5.5L, 1245kg car was a successful race car, so RIso answered the question. Since no specifics were mentioned in the curiosity, then matching the criteria given is the only way to respond.

Re: BRC QuER - Hockenheim 1000 km 1976 [WAIT]

It was competing against MR Ferraris and the like who all spend millions in R&D. Hopefully a 1200 KG 5.7L will be competitive against a field of lighter 3L cars in the BRC76 scenario. If a Corvette can beat a Ferrari under the same rule set, Riso is saying that the same should be true here.

It was an analogy more than a direct comparison.

Are the cars all limited to the same tire dimensions in that real world race?

There are minimum tyre pressure, minimum wheel weight, as well as maximum width and diameter for the wheel and rims.

Get all the rules you want here. http://www.24h-lemans.com/en/race/regul ... _1744.html

All the LM-GTE cars have a minimum weight of 1245kg btw.

Yes, it could do that if it a) first checked a model file from the right build and then one from the old build or b) if the tool was not closed before selecting the second car or c) something else went wrong because the tool did not reset itself properly between checking various models. I will check in a few hours who is affected and upload the new tool which hopefully finally works in each case. :( PMs will be sent to the affected participants.

I guess I was trying to say that I was unsure that my car would be competitive against the other vehicles currently competiting.

Re: BRC QuER - Hockenheim 1000 km 1976 [WAIT]

Yes definitely that could compete well.

But there's so many variables so it's kinda hard to answer I think.

A V6 Turbo for instance could be bother a ricer or an F1 car. Arguably the Mclaren is both.

For what it's worth, I multiplied the ["CoolingAirflowFraction"]= from Packbat-Cars-Trims.lua by the ["CoolingCapacity"]= from Packbat-Cars-Models.lua and it came up with the right number. But I added all the cooling fixtures before I created the trim and my trim was always the same body type, so I wouldn't expect my entry to be caught out by this bug.

Re: BRC QuER - Hockenheim 1000 km 1976 [FIX]

PMs have been sent to the affected users (12 of them).

:!: The BRCTool now cannot export cars which do not meet the rules. Watch the log screen for reasons.

This was the message sent out:

Hi,

following the announcement in the forums I would like you to resubmit your cars for the BRC76 race in Hockenheim. At least one of your cars has either wrong cooling values or was disqualified. This is the chance to fix this. The cooling bug makes your car more prone to failing, so resubmitting only makes your finishing chances better ;)Please resubmit until Monday.

Please use the new BRCTool: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4x5S3wQzQFlN0xYWTc1U1lHQkU/view?usp=sharing

Follow these instructions closely:
  • Start Automation
  • Start BRCTool
  • load your trim in Automation
  • go to the trim fixtures tab
  • go to the suspension tab
  • click on any slider (one click up and one click down) in your suspension tab to reload the car properly
  • Use BRCTool like you always do; for your second car add a "2" to you forum name, i.e. "Der Bayer2", nothing different or additionally (don't add a "1" for your first car)
  • close and open BRCTool again before exporting the 2nd car

If anything remains unclear please ask in the forum thread. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Cheers,
Martin

I think I addressed all people who need to resubmit. If you want to be 100% sure but didn't receive a PM, feel free to resubmit. But please, for the love of God, read the instructions (readme.txt and the list in the PM text above).

If you have any trouble please post a detailed description here.

edit: if the forum does not let you upload the files please send an email to the.bavarian (at) yahoo (dot) com

Re: BRC QuER - Hockenheim 1000 km 1976 [WAIT]

Surprised mine wasn't affected since its the same body but two different trims.... unless I misunderstood what was causing the cooling problems. Glad to see things moving forward :)
