Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 2 P&Q]

Jeeez...
Those drivers must've been Maldonado clones. 18 Cars in total were OUT - and 14 of those were JUST by crashes!
What I really "liked" to see was the crash between Denta and Riso - which caused 2 another crashes. Crashed cars which are standing on the track are a danger, which can cause accidents.

@CobaltGirl: Solid Performance by your SME! It proves that an OHV car is capable of a good performance in BRC!

@Packbat: I used DAOHC :lol:

Thanks! However, I think, in this race, it was more a matter of gaining position by survivability, more than strong performance. Only one driver error, and small at that, and no crashes. But the big surprise is that my engine didn't go kaboom, you know, because OHV. Marvin the Martian is quite annoyed by her performance in this respect. Sorry, Marvin, but no Q36 modulator producing an earth shattering kaboom this round. :D

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 2 P&Q]

Just watched the Snetterton race as I was yesterday not at home.

OMG, I'm so excited to finish second! My car seems to perform well on dry, however not on the level of Marcus817. Respect for that!
I got two consecutive mini heart strokes, as my driver made these mistakes on two consecutive laps! (made 0 the whole first race) But after Normans incident the world was again in balance! (I was LMAO tho)

The best strategy for dry races seems to be 1 pit stop. I'm considering to gamble with 2 since the Knockhill will certainly be very wet.

To the hosts: My wheel arches are wide because of maximizing footprint size.

I don't agree on the fact 1 stopper is the best idea, considering you lose over 3 seconds a lap at the end of your stint.

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 2 P&Q]

I was loosing about a second a lap, considering my heavy fuel load was getting also less.

Also, I'm just curious, goes the probability to make a driver mistake up when the tires are getting worse?

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 2 P&Q]

depends on the car. I run a 1 stop and ran 27s pretty much all the way through Snetterton.

Whoo! Thirstiest car in the race! I'm pleased I did a little better this time around. I didn't watch the entire stream but I did skim through bits and pieces, including my crash (thanks Puffster). Makes me feel glad my car rated high on reliability and safety, especially with the bloodbath that this race became. You may want to see if it's possible to integrate a pace car system to allow wreckage to be safely cleared from the track.

*finally gets a chance to watch the race*

Hurray! I am so pleased - my driver has gotten the wheels under them and is running excellently, in keeping with my father's motto: go for the bronze!

Thank you to our excellent commentators, and thank you, 07CobaltGirl, for the race results screenshots.

@Pyrlix: Ah, I see - I'd never heard of DAOHC before I played Automation, so it is very interesting to me to see how widely used it is.

Yay! I win!...

The most revs in the race anyways. 718krevs! Powerband at 9k and redline at 9.6k will do that.

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 2 P&Q]

i have suggestion for next race stream. since im expecting the top 10 qualification car wont change so much in later race, how about include cars on pre-race spotlight that you guys consider perfoming good in last race outside the top 10 qualification or have unique setup yet doing unexpectedly perfoming really well or maybe just anything that catch your eyes? just pick one or two or more(depends on how many times you guys have) just in case you guys bored speaking same cars every stream

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 2 P&Q]

although i would like to up that, there's just 1 critical problem

how 'good' is it might be a bit subjective that depends on the person judging them

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 2 P&Q]

Hmm - I feel like they've done a decent job with the top 10, even given the duplicates, but I would like to see some other cars featured.

...you know, here's a simple option: look at the trump cards of people who qualified below the top 10 and finished in the top 10. (In this case: NormanVauxhall, iRaptor, conan, and mer_at.) Gives the commentators a chance to discuss properties that make a car faster in the race - especially if cars rose a LOT from their qualifying position.

Edit: At Silverstone the rose-to-top-10 would be iRaptor, koolkei, Riso, Luilakkie, and conan - so five cars.
