If you are not using the steam version, then you will always be behind.

The old method with the community modpack was much better, than being forced to get everything through a corporate website.

Anyway. If you supply me with the body you use it's fine.

Well it is a publicly available body, so it is available to you also as a non-steam user. Having said this, I had reservations about a "vanilla" competition to begin with, and I think I will now just quietly withdraw my intent to submit a car. Of course, as a woman, I don't have to worry about anybody deleting my porn. I don't have any porn to be deleted. If you're so enthralled by the community mod pack, then perhaps you should make a new one. Of course, doing so is inefficient compared to the Steam Workshop (for the person who is making the community mod pack manually), and as a German I'm sure this inefficiency also makes you cross, so you probably cannot be bothered with such trivial tasks. Good day to you. :)

Hmmm I suppose we'll see most people using your car body mate... :S
Make it a one-make competition as it will be easier :P

That could be a problem, yes.

I'd prefer a open body contest, my car is only a few seconds behind and I have not tuned much yet.

I also dont see why someone could not find a better solution, without the terrible tyres of the Porsche and the problems they create.

It's really just a matter if going through the bodies one by one now. I'm confident in my engine, now I just have to find the right body.

If it wasn't so bloody heavy I'd have entered the Crown Victoria body in Wagon form because of its insanely low drag coefficient. Sure enough my setup was capable of nearly 340kph and reached 320kph from a standing start. However in the end it still weighs about 1.5x as much as the small bodies, which makes it really rather sluggish off the line.

One possibility would be to rule out the winning body of the previous race, if it was too dominant.
So we'll see, the race is not over but if the Porsches get too dominant this would be an option.

Okay, well, in that case, I know which body's going to absolutely slam that not-Porsche body off the table. I think we all do tbh. But for academic interest I'll make it anyway! (After all I do like my engine, I think it deserves a good run).

We really hope that someone finds a different way, some of the heavyweights like strop and nialloftara have not even entered ..

It's funny that my reference car exactly matches the lap record of 1959. That's pure coincidence but hopefully indication that rules and track were pretty well balanced. Would be nice if someone could get a bit lower still.

Trust me, the not-Sprite body has room and then some to go. I don't know about winning but about bettering your time, for sure.

Once I've finished a bit of tuning so it's closer to its maximum potential I'll send the body and the car across. You'll definitely want to outlaw this body in future seasons.

Very nice :) I already thought I'd broken the comp with the Porsche

Engine wise there are a bunch of excellent entries, so this could still become interesting.

Re: AVUS Grosser Preis von Berlin (1990) 1000/2000 cm³

Yeah, for future years I strongly recommend that you restrict certain bodies. Some are stupidly aerodynamic and light compared to others, as we've all seen with the 356 body. I know for a fact that my car is now seriously lagging behind everyone else's in terms of lap times, but I'm blaming that solely on the fact that I'm using a modern body.

Re: AVUS Grosser Preis von Berlin (1990) 1000/2000 cm³

The problem I see is if we restrict the Porsche body, then there will another next car that has the best ratio. And so on. Otherwise I agree.

Oherwise your engine is 10/10 but your choice of chassis was a mistake in any case, even without the Porsche.
