Re: Man With a Van Challenge! (Calculating Results)

Here's my engine and what that allows in terms of performance, I didn't go for MOHV because I'm an idiot and I only used 4 cylinders in an attempt to keep service costs down.

Re: Man With a Van Challenge! (Calculating Results)

Lordred's and RoyalStig's vans are quite a bit more powerful than mine. I think mine has 404Nm @ 2700rpm and a redline limited 250bhp. But it also has AWD and a manual locker because UTILITY! I'm trying to figure out how 427BHP translates to a slower 0-100 and quarter mile time... RWD only? Worse tyres?

Since I said hang the service costs and fuel economy (to a degree, still running 14.5:1 AFR), I actually used 4v SOHC (there was little advantage to the DOHC in the parameters that mattered and it was much more expensive). I was ok with using OHC because heavier is good for utility, and it still returns better torque and power and has more room to tune. My main disadvantage engine wise is that I was only able to make an engine with 75 reliability, good MOHV engines do much better than that.

The Elephant goes naught to 1/4 mile in 15.30 seconds.

okay i was wrong.....

my engine is making out 156HP. and 277Nm@1800RPM
although i was using 4V DOHC with DI.... so goodbye low service cost..... bad dicision.... real bad
wrong body too.... this one has a HERRENDOUS aero efficiency

im ready to lose now.....

BUT, At least!!

anybody wants a boost of hope my van i hoveled together in 5 minutes and didn't fiddle with it too much, it is what you'd expect to find in last place, only reason i even made it was just to see if skyline tailights looked good on a van, so you should be able to beat me no problem

:o

How could you!? This is a travesty!

That said, just look at your engine specs, I think that out-Strops me by a big margin... I'm kinda surprised my van is only 0.05s slower on a quarter mile.

The whole idea was, that I wanted a wide, and high use-able torque curve for towing / hauling. I actually did NOT spend time checking to see what resulted in the best utility score, I just went with my gut. We'll see if it pays off or not. But with the power, and gearing I used, I would be advertising the Van as a 1-Ton van.

Also, remember, 14.7:1 AFR :)

I had to go back and check and it looks like I'm putting down a 13.6 Quarter Mile at Tulsa with a 0-60 of 5.3 sec. I'm not sure how I managed that one; I really ignored my sportiness (it's 1.9). I have a big motor that makes a good deal of torque and AWD to put it down, but I wasn't expecting to be on the quick side of the competition when I made my van as large as possible.

The 2015 Rennen Spatium. A tried and tested method, using the same tactics that's classically Rennen.

Under the hood is a 3.5L V6 producing 266 HP and 240 lb-ft, and, as such with a classic Rennen engine, revs very high for the class at 7000 RPM.

although, it has 100 hp more than mine....

Re: Man With a Van Challenge! (Calculating Results)

23. Griffin Car-GO-While Very Powerful, the Car-GO's Power is hidden up at the top of the rev range.
Where most van drivers do not tread. Unless they are assholes.
352.1

22. Solstice SuperNova- While it does look super cool, it's expensive to maintain. Even when paired
against the Twin Turbo V8 Vans.
379.56

21. Earicorn Fidelis-One of the weakest vans, it needs a monocoque chassis to trim down it's weight
because it only has 133 Horsepower.
388.42

20. Vanguard-This van struggles to get 25MPG, which I would be okay with if the engine weren't so
weak.
390.22

19. THE_STIG-CargoMax-While the Monocoque chassis and multilink suspension made it very comfy, it
did not help it as a utility vehicle.
391.12

18. Polmot-Type V -While it is the easiest to drive, it's too small to do any actual work.
396.36

17. Galt-V Series -Even with generous Overdrive, only 3 of the Van's 5 Speed transmission can ever be
touched.
407.77

16. Blasters_PewPew-CarryAll much like the original Iron Duke, The 4.1 Liter Inline 4 and -15 quality tires
made for an unpleasant driving experience
410.89

15. Lenraj-Shippie -If I was looking to just transport myself around, this one one be the best. But, transporting
cargo is oddly enough not one of this van's strong points.
413.15

14. Boss-Brute- The Quickest and fastest van Held up well as a utility vehicle, but could not keep up with
the regular car qualities.
414.81

13. Storm-Courier- It has plenty of room to carry around caskets.
416.66

12. Ponni-CargoMate- Using 93 Octane Fuel all the time is just not something all van drivers can afford.
419.38

11. Infinity-HC-20- No electronic stability control made this van a bit of a handful to drive.
424.1

10. Koolkei-Swan -This van is really slow, and it's very heavy. Two things that do not go very well with each other.
430.32

9. DMA-CV-115 -Sitting in the CV115 is very painful compared to the competition.
431.10

8. TheCarLover SoloBear -The 3.0 Liter V6 feels very cheap, and a monocoque chassis does not help it as a utility vehicle.
432.71

7. LHE-Elephant-The Turbo charged engine was quite good when it needed to do hard work, but when it was cruising around it did nothing but waste gas.
432.73

6. Baltazar-Andromeda. -Just Barely not making the cut, The Andromeda was quite good all around, but failed to be dynamic enough to win.
434.17

5-???

4-???

3-???

2-???

1-???
