Re: Homologation 1984 Group Automation [Closed]

Yeah but i wanted the turbo because then i could get roughly equivalent power, or at least close, for less weight so i could put more into the luxury of the car.

And rear drum brakes! PAW takes pride in their obsolescent technology. :ugeek:

Yay! It seems my car is in the top 5, as it isn't in this list. That makes me (and Astana) happy!

There is nothing wrong with rear drum brakes. As long as they are sufficient.

Oh, easily. They're 275s - no brake fade at all. (250 mm vented discs in the front.)

8th, not bad. Not bad at all for my first competition results.

And "Not like any car from the UK?" Is that because I used carbs? I'm taking that as a good thing, no matter what it actually means.

EDIT: Well, A SOHC Turbo I4, with a four barreled carb was not the way most people went. +1 for creativity! And damn, was I down on power, next lowest power was in 21st position.

...just out of curiosity, did anyone else go with front-wheel-drive? Mine is the only FWD outside the top five, at the very least.

Not like any car from the UK, because English cars from the 50s-90s are known for their horrible shoddy wireing and electronics thanks to Lucas. Since your car was reliable, I was making a joke about not using Lucas electronics.

Lucas wiring diagram. (Joke, but oh so true if you've ever rebuilt a British car)

Not last, not bad for an hours work, and most of that spent cursing at a turbocharger that I eventually threw out. 9000rpms is the only acceptabe red line for a rally car. :)

I made it to the top 5 on my very first competition O_O Whow, guess going for luxury paid off after all :D Also somehow managed to get the most fuel efficient too so all the extra money you spent on my car you save in gas :P

Re: Homologation 1984 Group Automation [Results]

A score metric of nearly 1, not bad not bad. Competitive field though, that was still literally only a mid-field finish. AND not even the most powerful car :o What happened, Armada!?

But hands down the quickest car, now that makes me pleased. If only I could do that AND get into the reviews...
