And this here is where I feel my car has the biggest uphill battle: it's been shown to struggle in the reverse heats, probably due to lack of overtaking power, which will be exacerbated by the great leveller that is tyre wear, particularly on this track. It'll take a fair bit of bad fortune for my opponents if I'm to sneak into the top 3, but this is racing!

Realistically I should be satisfied to maintain a top 5 finish, but one can hope.

Re: BRC 1955 - The Golden Age [Qualifying R5]

the open beta has now been released.

i wonder if the '65 BRC will be done in that version or even much newer ones.

if it does....... the '65 will..... might i say. perform worse than the '55 cars on today's version.

as, engine cooling needs goes up to triple the amount needed on 2000's car on the open beta.

The BRC 1965 will probably use the public release version without major bugs. The simulation is not ready yet anyway.

Re: BRC 1955 - The Golden Age [Qualifying R5]

I wonder what sort of power/weight ratio is needed, for those of us that don't use the "non-Sprite" body, to be competetive.
Maybe someone whith a top level "non-Sprite" car can do a test. Come up with some sort of penalty for using it.
So that maybe all will NOT use the same body for the 1965 series. :(

Agreed - I don't know what kind of rule would be most elegant, but something is needed. Perhaps a bonus based on body aerodynamic cross-section?

What about just using the better body? It's not like motor racing has different rules according to different car shapes.

Because then it can be renamed the "non-Sprite Racing Challenge", where is the fun in that?
