Grats Vikus!

Also, as RocketplaneRacing said, each track will vary significantly, Silverstone being very high end. So this is likely to change.

I wish I had more reliability now ... :?

Yeah, Im actually very limited in top speed, I've went in pursuit of acceleration on the gearbox settings. :) Still, surprised to see myself so high up the board.

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 1 TODAY]

the difference between 1st and 20th are.... only 1.88s O_O
COMPETITIVENESS LEVEL OVER 9000!!!!

i don't think my car are too uncompetitive, the race is just way too competitive.
either way, im rather glad i made mine excel at high speed corners, i never saw my car drop below 100kph

although to be fair.... only a few cars did...

That didn't quite go as well as I hoped.. I blame my mediocre 80-120 time.
Well, never expected my first try at this to be great. but still.

Yay. I suck. I might need to tune my car a bit more if I can.

Well, you did beat over 20 people!

It's very competitive too 3 seconds further up and your one of the leaders, so, sit tight for the race I say. There's a good chance my car will explode so that's at least one place and there's no chance Norman will finish so that's two already! :D

I really like that the places scroll, that's a really nice way of dealing with all the cars.

I'm really confidant I have a very fast car, but now I kinda wish I'd gone for far more reliability. Also my gears maybe are a bit low for passing. :S

I'm pretty sure the bar's gone down on the proverbial roller coaster and the ride has started. Meaning no more changes for the entire season!

Keep in mind that that was qualifying, we have 90 minutes of unpredictable racing and unpredictable weather ahead of us, and Silverstone is only one of ten tracks with unique characteristics.

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 1 TODAY]

This is going to be ugly and messy, but here's three data sets from the Silverstone practice session: fuel tank size, dry-conditions fuel consumption per lap, and total practice-session (i.e. 10-lap) tyre wear. On the basis of practice times, I estimate 51 laps in the race for the leaders, so multiply up accordingly.

(I would do the analysis myself, but I unfortunately have a prior commitment today. I'll probably be catching the race in reruns.)

(Edit: Holy crap. Vikus, you're looking at a four stop race if it stays dry. Ouch.)

(Edit: ...oh, dear. I could get unlucky on my pit strategy here. I gave myself a margin of safety on top of my estimated maximum fuel consumption, but this track burned through all of it and more.)

I'm hoping my safety and reliability stats pay off, my car doesn't seem to have much else going for it. That's my stubborn commitment to use a big block I suppose.

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 1 TODAY]

See. I almost went for a 3 stopper on maxed out camber but it would have required a hufe qualy in order not to get blocked. Would have been interesting if I had the pre-season test pace...

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 1 TODAY]

Yeah, I'm pretty far off the pace (~4-5 sec), but I'm confident in a single-stop strategy. Tires may be a little worn, but I can make it 60%+ through the race without stopping for fuel (which is the planned stop, 60%).

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 1 TODAY]

On the topic of would-do-the-analysis-myself-but: would anyone be willing to calculate number of dry-race fuel stops required for each of the top 10? (Or everyone, if you have time.) I feel like that and the practice-session lap times are going to be the best metrics to predict who is favored to win.
