Re: Barely Street Legal League [SURVEY ON FINAL PAGE]

@Vos: dude that is some of the sweetest use I've seen for Pleb's Focus grille, the Not-Gallardo vent, and Necronn's really pointy grille. Everybody will probably expect that thing to be glued to the road and do like 450km/h.

NOTE: By the time I get BSLL2 out, things like ACTIVE COOLING FLAPS, ACTIVE WING, ACTIVE SUSPENSION and LIMITED SLIP DIFFS are going to be out, which means way more whizzbangery to play with! I'm going to obviously have to factor those in. In fact, I'll be rejigging the scoring so that it's similar in spirit but a bit different, so while your choices are fundamentally important, the tuning may prove to be the vital difference!

If everyone else is filling their car with gadgets I might feel obligated to enter a 1960's pushrod v8 hotrod out of spite.

Re: Barely Street Legal League [SURVEY ON PAGE 70]

I will be re-entering the E30 LS7 M!! ;)

I will probably figure out how to get wider wheels on it though (and probably more downforce). That was my only real downfall...wheelspin madness and slow-G cornering.

Will make sure to add a rule: if altering the bones on the car .luas, please let me know so the game doesn't break!

But I'll try allowing that, because really, I'm a fan of fat tyres.

But how far? One of my prototypes is out of the window if widened tyres are allowed.

Re: Barely Street Legal League [SURVEY ON PAGE 70]

Eh, good question. Current max limits for the largest possibly body shell is 485, that's in Kubby's not-Eldorado shell.

That being said, there are limitations on the width of bodywork and also that tyres can't protrude from bodywork... as that would make them not street legal. So I'll have to think about that one, and set a certain limit. So it's TBA for now. Also, if you send me a car and it breaks my game, well, then I can't use it, so that'd be disincentive to go too nuts :P

How do you edit the bones of a .LUA file ?

Re: Barely Street Legal League [SURVEY ON PAGE 70]

There is a file called bones.lua in the folder for each cars.

It defines the limits for each bone (morph zone) of the car.

On pretty much every car there are two bones, usually called something like FrontFlare and RearFlare, that define the limits of the fender flares and therefore let you change the width of tires that you can fit.

If you make the MinX value smaller, it will let you fit wider tires.

Remember though that this will probably cause issues if you send the car to someone who has an unmodified version of the file.

Yup, don't sweat the rules and details too much, just don't stop hosting the only competition that has the "Krazy" dial set at 11!!! :D
