After hearing the call that CHP was in need of new police vehicles, us here at Daven Automotive thought it would be right to answer that call with the all brand new Mulholland P91 Interceptor. As times called for a more affordable car, we thought that converting our already successful civilian car and making a police was the answer. Featuring a 5.5 OHV small block V8 making 260 HP @4800 RPM and 306 ft-lb of torque @3900 RPM. Weighing in at 3162 pounds at with the DeathGrip LSD and a 3 speed automatic, the P91 "sprints" to 62 MPH in just under 9 seconds with a top speed of you're not going to figure out till the challenge is over. (Keep an eye on my thread for full stats) This isn't the greatest contender but it sure as hell looks good.

Presenting the 1978 LHE Orbital Mk II P33

The Orbital line started in 1968 as a larger, and more comfortable version of the Comstar, more room for the family, more comfortable for day to day driving and standard with V8 power from the proven X-Modular family, though limited to only 3787cc. In 1974 the Orbital received a major redesign to celebrate the release of the new Ti-SX modular engine family which featured a considerably larger family size, the new 4.8 liter V8 prooved to be exactly what was needed for the heavier car.

With the call for a new police model to replace the aging fleet, LHE opted to punch out the new Ti-SX Modular to the limit of its family capacity, delivering a very compact, but robust 5418cc V8.

With the ability to jump from a stand still to 62mph in just 8.1 seconds and following up to the 1/4 mile in nearly 16 flat. It is also properly equipped to bring you to a stop in just Forty One and a half meters.

Edit: I do not belive I will do well, I focused more on what I felt were important attributes for a Cop car, and focused on the competition second to that. I look forward to the results :D

Here is a sample of what Boss Motorsports produced for this challenge. A few things to note: This is not the actual entry. The actual prototype and info will be kept out of the public eye pending evaluations. This is a pursuit prototype which shares only the body of the actual Boss Motorsports Police Interceptor. Even the wheels are different.

This is our prototypical pursuit model. You would need a waiver from both the EPA and Tycondero in order for this car to actually be used for quite a few reasons:

1. It doesn't have catalytic converters because it needs 98 Octane Leaded fuel.
2. It costs just a bit more than the $8000 restriction. (Although not nearly as much as I thought.)
3. The motor was built in 1969 for the original Boss Motorsports performance vehicles.

So why am I sharing it? Well, I thought it was cool, it's free advertisement for the Boss 432 which powers this model, and I can show off the body and some ballpark stats without disclosing the actual information of my entry which was all custom built for this challenge.

I'm not much of a car designer. I'm an engine builder, and I like how this car turned out. The Police Interceptor Model comes with small lights that can be fitted with red and blue bulbs, along with the stock white, near the front grille and rear license plate bracket. In addition, the car is equipped with plenty of cooling surfaces in order to help out with the extra pieces of equipment that adds heat to the vehicle such as radio transmitters, oil and transmission coolers, as well as more beefy electrical systems and bigger alternators.

One of my favorite features of the car is the rear lights which are all individual bulbs, allowing for some cool sequencing of emergency lighting, as well as being a staple of Boss Motorsports vehicles.

Finally, here's what this car could do on a track if she were more than just a prototype that shares the body of the Police Interceptor. 500 HP out of a police car would make the bad guys much easier to apprehend. Not to mention the coffee wouldn't get cold on the way to the station with that much get-up-and-go. She would definitely be relegated to the highways with that much power. She's not much good anywhere else. And not to worry, the actual submission is much more tame in comparison, but more tuned for this specific challenge.

Oh god OHC, my company only does pushrod, cause Merica'. Also how much power and torque?

I'm pretty sure by now that compared to any American who put in an entry, my car is actually the least powerful, which, for me, is shocking. Will it make up for it in terms of its low end grunt and superior comfort and economy? We'll find out!
