Well, as Niall wrote it shouldnt be all about the "dyno queen", as long as you have a good setup your car should do well. With that I will say that I think I will give Strop a run for his money, depending on what he is using for his HP/ton measurement (US, UK or Metric ton) I also have over 600HP/ton but the biggest factor limiting my car is the limited size of the front tires, I can ONLY use full power in top gear otherwise it is just wheel spin in every gear. So it doesnt matter how much power you make if you cant put it all down on the ground. If it helps you feel better my top speed is only 158MPH/254KPH, not the fastest by a long shot but I think my cornering will make up for that.

Also, from experience, more power =/= faster.

If the powercurve is crap or if the car can't put the power down it is going to make you slower.

Yes, exactly that. Also there is the tame ness/sportiness penalty which the game has built-in. I had a 560 hp car that is just 0.1 seconds faster around the green hell, but 2.5s slower on the automation track than the 502 hp version I settled with. However, going lower than that just made things worse as well.

Yeah, let's just say if were racing at Detroit, VIR, Brands Hatch or the slow BRC stages I am royally screwed <_< but if we were racing on Green Hell or Daytona or Ludwigschafenring, I still won't expect to do that well.

Lol I think I set myself up to fail on this one. I'm going to cross my fingers and see if the Telstar can squeeze onto the podium.

Well, here's a hint strop, you named 2 of the 8 courses. I'm just not going to say which 2.

Re: The FWD Sedan Endurance Series. entries closed!

I'm very sorry for the delays, ended up moving this last weekend and running about car shopping before I take a baseball bat to my Hyundai.

progress! for whatever reason Strop's and highoctanelove's cars continues to crash my game, they have both stripped all mod parts off and I've done a full reinstall of the game, no luck. In addition TheColoredCow has not even opened my message about their issue after 9 days.
So for the moment Strop, HighOctaneLove, and TheColoredCow will be sidelined. if anyone has an idea to try, short of them zipping their entire game folder to send to me I'm all ears. but with out further ado here is the track list, with a bonus track added making the total series 9 tracks long!

1.Streets of Detriot
2.Pikes Peak
3.Laguna Seca
4.Mt Panorama
5.Wangan Highway Loop
6.Suzuka
7.Shanghai International
8.Green Hell
9.Circuit de la Sartha

I was unable to finish all the times for Detroit before work today, I should have them up by tonight.

Oh, bugger. If I were to rebuild a replica of the car from scratch would you still take it? I can do it right now.

Hey, we all know real life gets in the way at times and there are some things that are impossible to avoid. Also I would like to point out that there are a few cars that I have built that work fine, I can do multiple test runs etc and then I change one or two things and I get constant LUA errors when trying to test, in the end I always need to delete that car and start over, seems like a bug sneaks in and screws it all up.

EDIT: Cant wait to see the results!!! :D Very curious how my little car did.

Sometimes it's probably stamping errors, as in the kind of situation Blasters mentions... the CTD ones though, that's a new one. Did the rebuild work?

I'm at work for the next 9 hours, I'll check then. I'd hoped I just had a older version as I had not reinstalled since the day 1418 went public and you and others had headlight 13 which on mine was only a taillight, but that wasn't it either.

Ah, that might explain it, it mostly happens after I need to enlarge a grill to get more airflow but I end up doing so many changes (engine power->air flow->grille size->air flow->transmission gearing->test) that I never know which one is the culprit, now that you mentioned this I will keep an eye on it and see if downsizing a grille will "fix" it.

Oh, thats not good :( I hate CTDs since it is harder to track what went wrong, just like when I was helping Strop out with the PP cards, my OpenOffice would constantly CTD when I was trying to place flags on the cards, in the end I couldnt finish the flags (they are all on the card but not positioned) since OpenOffice was not cooperating.

My game is probably worse than yours.... haven't reinstalled since B1362, and i got a ton of leftover random engines from the TURBO RELEASE. Wow. I really need that full reset coming with the new Steam release..
