Re: AMWEC '15 [next race january 31st]

I have a question. When you started AMWEC why did you not use BROBOT like other challanges? Not criticizing just curious. :)
I also thought it would be interesting if we brought the WeatherTech Sports Car Championship to Automation as a support series for AMWEC. Daytona 24 has got me into GT racing again. :P

Re: AMWEC '15 [next race january 31st]

I didn't know (and I still don't know) if brobot manage the parameters i needed to run (fuel tank depending on class, brake changes, weight fuel effect, pit stops depending on the fuel left, car's reliability and fuel pressure, different set of tyres...) and well, run BROBOT for 24 straight hrs doesn't seems very practical. That said, I soon realized that I need a dedicated software to run the caculations, because doing it manually in spreadsheets takes inmense time. I will do a special software for 2016 AMWEC, obviously way less cooler than BROBOT  but since I have a few other projects (a few car bodies, another challange in mind, how to close this challange, and a car magazine) that will take part in the second half of the year, probably the last 10 weeks of this year. Hopefully, there will be v10 engines by then *crosses fingers* 8-)

Also 2016 challenge seems fun and all, but what about early years of lemans? Like group 5 or group C? I'd love to run a 75-80 theme.

Oh yeah, I've been playing with that idea, 1969, 1989, 1994 and 1998 (because those would fit nicely in my soon-to-be-released car company history) but only the le mans race, because I don't want to do a 10 races season with spreadsheets again

EDIT: modified the years

Don't forget the 75 ;) That's the fun era where Porsche cheated FIA a lot and the cars were very crazy

Time for racing in the second and last 12hrs event! So this is the last chance for some teams to gather points before the big finale in le mans!
The race was originally supossed to take place in the Nordschleife but because of the Nissan GTR accident last year, the race will take place now in the GP-Strecke.
The track is five kilometers long, with a lot of curves and some interesting turns, it's actually hard to predicte a result. if we have learned one thing in the AMWEC is that everything is possible, and we should expect the unexpected.

Best result for BFM so far, happy about that. Maybe we can break into the teens at Silverstone. Not expecting anything big for Le Mans though.
