Yes, in a way it is too bad. I designed another car first, but then noticed some pictures here and didn't recognize the car in the game. Then I noticed it was an added car. Sadly it does seem to be much faster, so by now it has become a no-brainer to use this one I think.

Not a bad thing necessarily :) that was the case in 1945 too, with the only viable body being the small one... that leads to some fierce competition and really close races, which is good!
I'll give another larger body a try for the first trainings to see how far I can push one of them up the ranks.

Sorry for being that guy who doesn't understand. But I'd rather that than being the guy who does it wrong and doesn't have his car entered. Anyway, is this how I'm meant to name the car? and then just send in to you four lua files?

It should look like this:

Oh I think I understand now thanks. However, new slight problem: this title wont change. Anyone know why?
(Sorry for being a huge pain. This is my first challenge since steam. Everything has changed, it's very strange)

Re: BRC 1955 - The Golden Age [BUILD]

Maybe message Der Bayer and see if he'll accept the files as they are?

Otherwise you might have to re-make your car :(

You read my mind it seems. I've just taken pictures of every screen so I can remake the car haha
From now on I should be okay. Thank you

Re: BRC 1955 - The Golden Age [BUILD]

Just keep changing the name and going to results page. It took me many tries to make it save correctly for me too. Not sure why, but sometimes if you try to change the name after it's been saved it wants to fight you. It's not really consistent enough to report as a bug, as I can't duplicate it every time...only sometimes.

Re: BRC 1955 - The Golden Age [BUILD]

It might be that you need to make a change to the car for it to take the name (that's a bug). Just change any slider up and down again, then leave the designer, the name should save then.

Re: BRC 1955 - The Golden Age [BUILD]

This might be a silly question (yes I used the search feature inside the thread) BUT are we allowed to use DOHC? It wasn't mentioned in the rules, however it isn't particularly time period correct for '55.

Try to stay period correct with pushrods is killing me :-p

Re: BRC 1955 - The Golden Age [BUILD]

You can use DOHC - both single and dual overhead camshafts have been a thing since before WWII.

I think one of the reasons why Automation starts in 1940 is that many of the most important engine-related technical advances were already complete by that period.
