BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 6 P&Q]
Yep, that's the one thing that's really stopping me from being too particular about the fine tuning. I rest assured that it's a problem that will be fixed, but all this obsessing over times that may not even exist gets really frustrating!

I'm guessing that the Unreal engine port will take care of it in the course of introducing scores of new issues, and we can start complai-- I mean, posting detailed bug reports in earnest then.

Right now, fine tuning is Sisyphean
When I can be surer that the time I get is the time I get, that will of course change. But as it stands, as the old saying goes, insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting something different to happen

Gonna try my first BRC this time around. Hopefully I can make something halfway decent. I enjoy challenging myself in the game but now that there is an actual race I will probably fail miserably.

Real racing: where the best car doesn't always win

Re: BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [BUILD]
Chasing seconds on a track that won't be featured in the championship seemed futile to me. So I'm waiting for the baseline of testing, and then trying to find good "all round" setting, maybe try move the center of car's gravity about, and play with suspension types

I have a major problem with the BRCTool.
After setting up my "race-prepped" commie car (working fine in automation) I encountered this problem:

I am starting to think that deep inside my game is a special bug which just wouldn't let me get past 2.22.something... I have tried it all, Fr, Mr, light, full steal, high HP, flat torque, high revving, full chamber, soft suspension, rock hard... and all I accomplished is
a) I have ruined averagely performing but really nice looking car (oh yeah I must try to bring it back the way Baryer told me to)
b) my fastest car now is a thirsty wagon with 2.22.6.
Bravo me
I know I know... find the balance, add more power... I just want to let a bit of frustration out
thanks guys

Mine is nothing special, I've revised it to Mk2 stage by now, but speed isn't it's forte, so I concentrating on getting the camber angles closer to zero and fuel consumption down while not losing speed, and it worked. Dropped 5l / 100km

@squidhead: Remember, regular driving fuel economy is irrelevant. It's engine fuel consumption at full power that matters. (I'm sure you've been playing with displacement and leaning out the fuel mix and all that, but I'm just reminding you on the off chance.)

Well..... I am somewhat mad, somewhat not right now. Is there a special trick to backing up cars? Do I have to export or can't I just copy the files from the folder? Tried copying a version of my car yesterday that was running ~2:20:05 with -.6 / -.2 camber, etc...... Ended up changing the car around looking for better times but things just went downhill so I tried copying the old files back..... but all of the trim options reset to default except for like tire size and a couple quality sliders. Refiddled with the car from that point and back down to about 2:20:70, but uses a bit more fuel and -.5 / -.5
le sigh, everytime I try to mess with something it all goes to hell :\

Exporting takes your model with all trims and fitting engines and puts it into a zip file so you dont have to dig through all the folders for the files.
It will overwrite an existing zip file however if you don't rename it first.
Also I think 2:20.70 will do just fine. (looks at own trim again. whelp.)

@TheBobWiley: My working assumption is that the best time was actually due to game bugs - did you get that time after going through all the tabs to settle out all the calculations? There's a lot of details which change unpredictably during suspension tuning.

Yeah I did, after deleting and moving my old files back, the trim settings (the last tab) reset to default, except for my tire sizes and quality sliders on the transmission and aero. No idea what happened there, but getting annoyed at all these little things so I will probably be going with my current car. Any word if there will be another pre-race this week before the deadline?
