Sanguinity wrote:@Riso Your car started in lap 4/5 of racing and ran out in lap 17. Do the math, like you just recently told someone ;)

@Riso: Only about 10 or so cars actually ran lap one during lap one. (I didn't count exactly how many, as I was #1 and #2 out of the gate so I didn't need to count cars or laps) When my two cars finished, lap 20 was finished (one of mine stopped on lap 12) When the last car finished, it was that car's lap 20. Math is easy!

First time participating in one of these. Is the Pantera and Ford Falcon bodies legal?
Does cooling afect the chances of blown engine directly or it only takes in effect the reliability number?
What bodies are people using?
Can you use quality sliders on the non tyres tabs? Like gearbox, suspension, bottom, etc...

^ you do know the modpack 'essentials collection' right?
the mods in that pack are the only one allowed.

CMIIW here
cooling affect the overall/calculated engine reliability, since brobot doesn't use the same calculation as the game
there's both car reliability, and engine reliability, both are different and affects different things.
the bodies people are using varies, as every type of body has their cons and pros, you just have to fine the one suited for this challenge according to you.
and yes on quality sliders.

der bayer, is it possible to just display what lap the car is on, on the car data itself, rather than on the top of the screen, just for both practice and qualifiying?
or is it too a bit too complex for only a small impact?

Now with the addition of the new 70's rear engine sports car body, I think I should try for a super fuel efficient and light tire wear build...

Anyone played with the new body that was released? I can't seem to find any sort of usable cornering with it......

The Ford Falcon body is vanilla. And the Pantera one is in the essentials, but it's also vanilla now.
Are they legal yearswise? Just need someone to confirm that they are 1965 bodies and that we can use 65 bodies.

I'm trying it out now.... What are you using for suspension? I'm going with double wishbone all around.

Just set your year and click the "last 10 years" filter in the model tab. That will let you know what bodies are permitted without having to check the dates of each one. I'm pretty sure anything from 1965-1976 is fair game.

After you select your body, remember to click "all years" and advance the year to 1976. The game hiccuped for me when I didn't select "all years" first - said that it couldn't find the mesh file for my car body.

Re: BRC QuER - Hockenheim 1000 km 1976 [OPEN]

Are engine blow or some kinds of failure except driver error disabled in practice?

I think cooling is the reason of so many engine blow in BRC 1966.
actual cooling/required cooling*eng.reliability=BRC reliability?
If this calculation is correct, there will be so many car that explode its engine in this race since engine is bigger than BRC 1966.

Correct:

No, this was only a practice session. Engine failures, crashes, fights, damage from driver errors is deactivated in practise sessions, too.

They are legal. Also sliders are OK apart from tyres.
What bodies are people using?

 everything from crossovers, pickups, wagons, coupes...you name it. Someone even said something about entering a van...

I was planning to. But I realized the 8L Turbo might not be good for fuel.

Tuning the suspension in the new not-porche-911 body for 1976 is rather tricky. Any tips from the more experienced automation builders out there for how to tune a lightweight rear engine rear wheel drive sports car?
