Great stuff, second place. Now to hope that my car can pull a big enough advantage to the fast cars on sector one so it doesn't get passed on sector two :).

I'll be on your heels, Leo! Unfortunately you're one of the few I can't catch off the line right away with better acceleration xD

Znopresk was saved from a major disaster thanks to a suggestion about the gearbox from someone into Baltazar Automoveis.
Thanks to this the car is now competitive and I'm very curious about the race.

Congratulations! I think I'm approximately at your experience level, and I'm feeling pretty happy to have qualified 30th.

Re: BRC - Out of the Steam - 1945 [R1 Qualifying]

I honestly think it's great that there is more and more people coming on the forums for this type of thing :D But I worry that maybe it's quite harsh with people not getting through into the race. Acknowledging the stupid amount of extra work I'm suggesting, would it be possible to have a B group as well with the runners up? Just so everyone's car gets a run?

Annnnnyway....

Planning on making follow up stats post. Might do it after the race except for this,
For engine types, here is the number of entrants, qualified and number in the top 10.

Entrants Qualified Top10
I4 12 7 0
I6 9 6 2
V8 13 12 3
V8FP 15 13 5

It's probably worth noting that of the cars that Qualified I have the 3rd worst reliability, so that may hurt me, Killrob in 3rd has the best at 38.1.

Really looking forward to the race! :D

Re: BRC - Out of the Steam - 1945 [R1 Qualifying]

I wouldnt mind having a B-Group, mainly since my car is in that group :P I guess I sacrificed too much to get decent fuel economy, good reliability and great tire wear, not very conductive choices for a race I guess, that and no idea how to setup a suspension or transmission, the in game tests are fairly useless in that regard compared to this kind of race. Any hints?

Ouch. The Aihara 114 gloriously failed. That's what you get by sending in a modified STOCK post-war Japanese compact car.

Re: BRC - Out of the Steam - 1945 [R1 Qualifying]

Ha! 28th in qualifying! Not bad for a beat up old Chevy Fleetline (my car company didn't exist in 1945). I do wish I had participated more frequently in the preliminaries, however. I could have tweaked it more. I dropped camber heavily to reduce tire wear (-140 down to -120) and it helped, but I lost some cornering speed. I'm also still one of the most inefficient engines out there. Oh well, maybe I'll get some good laps in and finish in the top 20. hahaha

4th, that's pretty good.

Let's just hope my driver won't crash the car during the race.

I think Der Bayer's is the only car in the fastest group with very little handling difficulties.

Re: BRC - Out of the Steam - 1945 [R1 Qualifying]

Im wondering is the reverse grid something like the btcc where a numbered ball (5-10) determines the how the reversing is done. If ball number 8 is drawn 1st to 8th is reversed so 8th goes into pole and 1st into 8th or are we doing 1st starts at the back and last starts in pole?

Re: BRC - Out of the Steam - 1945 [R1 Qualifying]

Huh? The numbers assigned to the cars are simply the order in which they were submitted. Mine was the 13th submission, for example, so my car is represented by number 13 in the race. Unless you're talking about something which has not been done yet. haha
