Oh wow, I forgot the power comes in so late on my car. I guess it would be fun to listen to it revving insanely high though.

This week some specs of the AGTE class were revelied. And these are amazing racing machines, so powerful that is hard to imagine that there are actual stree legal versions of these. With an average of 687.3 hp, it's the must powerful class in the championship... no surprise why these cars did very good in the last 2 events.
3 MR cars and 10 with a FR configuration; 3 with soft compound tires, 1 with hard and 9 with medium; 1 V6, 2 L6 and 10 V8, 11 NA and 2 with turbocharger. The car with the highest HP it's the Banshee, making 773hp, while the lowest is the Adelaide, with 210 hp less (also the one with least torque).
On the other hand, the Forvio is the car producing more torque, 533lb-ft and 755hp, thanks to a turbocharge V6. With that much power, hard tires and a turbocharger (which means a peak powerband) it must be a challenging car to drive! maybe that's one of the reasons for it's desafortunate participation in the last races. It was a surprise to see 2 wagons running the race too, the Forvio and the Garuda (like those old volvo racing wagons), sadly they are in the lower half of the score board for their class.
We can finally see the specs for the Zeus GT, that are not that impressive, a 5.2 liters V8 with a powerband of only 500 rpms (compared to the second in class, the Vulcan GT, 5 liters, almost the same power, but more torque and a powerband of 800 rpms) something about that car makes me think of it like a mash between a Veyron and a Mclaren F1.
Finally the Exilus was a car that didn't caught the attention at first, but now is turning some eyes, not only has a big-ass L6 (amazing sound revving high) but it has been squeezing its way up in the score table, so we'll have to see how it performes in the next event!

The next race is in the Circuit of the Americas, in Texas. The track is more technical and longer than the last one, so it could mean a disvantage to those cars with higher speeds (it only has a long straight). Let's just wait for the race to see the results!

Why did you put less power than the minimum for a proper 0.55 hp/kg and with minimal weight?
Looking at the AGTE rules, I don't see any reasons about having a car with less than these 687HP.

Because at the last moment I found out I can't fit turbochargers in.

Re: AMWEC '15 [Next race december 20th + AGTE GUIDE]

The 5500cc aspirated engine limit isn't here by accident anyway. It would give exactly 125hp/l if people were to go for the lightest weight available.

Should definately have an entry done for AGTE. Seems like we'd have been able to use plenty of quality sliders while still being at the weight limit and such

Re: AMWEC '15 [Next race december 20th + AGTE GUIDE]

I started out with a debored destroked version of the Zeus' original V8 (which started at 5.8L). Naturally it wasn't race legal, but I fairly quickly realised that this was a blessing in disguise because less weight over the driving wheels meant less pit stops. Furthermore, 5.5L was actually too much to achieve minimum power even on the most economical AFR, as I'm generally used to building engines with much higher specific outputs.

So the Zeus doesn't have impressive specs huh? Certainly not, unlike previous seasons, GG's tuning and testing has been focused on achieving a very small window of balance where the car is both effective and predictable. The only thing impressive about it is just how much it's going to win

Re: AMWEC '15 [Next race december 20th + AGTE GUIDE]

Ow, yeah that HP difference between the LMPC and virtually everyone else. I took the "endurance" part too seriously and killed the power to the extent that the production variant is more powerful, less efficient and probably would have been a better fit for the comp. I didn't understand exactly what I was getting into with that.
