Re: 2016 MRCSR Time Trial Series [ACCEPTING ENTRIES]

Can I just say I had a lot of fun making my car for this competition

Out of interest, will we get to see the other's competitors cars when the races begin? And how much commentary/analysis/review are you going to be doing?

I'll post pictures of the Envy inevitably, but no stats. I can say I enjoyed building it, though. Should be amusing to see where exactly it places in the races, given I tried a new strategy that didn't entirely hinge on keeping the car the most fuel efficient.

I think I'll do the same. But only when the entrants are closed. No peeking until then!

I will be making little trading-card type images of each car when this is over; or at the least, I'll post an image of each car with the results.

I will post a couple-of-sentences length comment on each car. Something like:
The Carmaker Batmobile is quick around the turns, but suffers in top speed as a result. It performed well on tracks with many tight turns, but suffered on tracks with long straight-aways.

Can somebody confirm whether the incorrect drag and ventilation value issue has been fixed? I like how vmo mods look, but with that, they're technically cheating and that's why nobody else has allowed their use to this point.

Yeah I heard about that, which is why I didn't use the Vents, I just stuck to tail lights and Headlights.

Stick to Pyrlix's mod collection - until VMOs mods are either fixed or the single mod that is unfair is found, I'm not allowing them.

Trust me, I love VMO's mods, but I don't want anyone having an unfair advantage that isn't covered by the rules.

Is there a date deadline by which we have to enter?

E: Car submitted. God speed.

Re: 2016 MRCSR Time Trial Series [ACCEPTING ENTRIES]

I was going to submit, but a) my car has saving issues, and, b) I didn't notice the new regulation:

The maximum rim diameter is 18 inches (457.2), and the maximum wheel width is 10 inches (254 mm).

Until just now. I'll have to retune the car quite significantly as it was poised right on the edge of several limits!

Re: 2016 MRCSR Time Trial Series [ACCEPTING ENTRIES]

254 is such an awkward number for tires. It means the maximum width in game that we can use is 245, where as if you increased the limit by 1mm, we could jump to 255mm tires.

Re: 2016 MRCSR Time Trial Series [ACCEPTING ENTRIES]

I was just about to mention this: can that maximum limit be 255? It's meaningless to say 254, meaning 245.

Re: 2016 MRCSR Time Trial Series [ACCEPTING ENTRIES]

I'd agree with you on changing it to 255 but I already submitted my entry and don't want to bother changing it. I think he should just set it to 245Maximum now.

This would be annoying, since I've only changed my entry about 3 times and counting now, so I just wanted to spread the love around :P

I've already sent a car with 245s, and I don't want to change it. That being said...

PolMot is back

And today we're gonna show you a pure race car that aims to be close* to legendary TommyKaira ZZ-Strop.

This time the heart & soul of ECW...oh wait, that's not wrestling :P The heart and soul packed right behind your back is a 2 litre turbo boosted V8 with exactly 499 hp.

*By being close I mean like no more than 2 minutes behind Stropmeister on Nordschleiffe

Re: 2016 MRCSR Time Trial Series [ACCEPTING ENTRIES]

hahahaha alright alright, I'll use 245mm rear tyres (but damn, it kills my rear traction so bad ;_; )

The outward appearance of my submission has not changed much, after all, it is clearly based on a 2016 Lotus Evora :P The engine, similarly, is based on (but upgraded from) the Toyota 3.5L V6 2GR-FE that powers it. But that's where the similarities end, because I then wrung the car out to within a millimeter of the rules as far as possible: it weighs 907.3kg and has 499hp. Average reliability is 50.2, and safety is 60.3. As for quickness around the track, well, I expect it to be quick, but since drivability counts for a lot, I tried to maximise the value without sacrificing time around the track, so let's just say it's nearly as driveable as it is sporty
