Thx for moving one day. Thats always good for begginers.

Can you post names of others Circuits so I could pick a correct revision of engine?

How did you do that... I was trying to put that engine into body and I get all the time error.

I kept the engine bore/stroke relationship square (or extremely close to it) and a 2L inline six slots in nicely :) (At least on my install copy, lol)

I cannot get any Turbo engines to work without Lua errors so I'll be DNF'ing anyway! :(

Re: Automation Game Prototype Series

I made like you said... almost squre broke/stroke and still getting ":350:" error. There is problem with exhoust I think and dont know how to fix it. I even made shorter engine then "75.1/75.2" balance so for sure it fit to the car. There is elsewhere problem.

RaduST:

LucDesign 3.4L V8 Red Monster: 536 HP (9000RPM), 451 Nm (7600RPM)

but I think next one will be a little surprise

LucDesing 2.0L Turbo V8 Red Draco: 519 HP (8300RPM), 536 Nm (6100RPM) - why so low you ask? couse that engine took best results on test track. (that one was 7-8 sec. faster than others revision of 640-720 HP engines)

Re: Automation Game Prototype Series

Hm... Interesting. I know that my 2.0T is ~7 seconds faster around La Sarthe than my 3.4, but i didn't try a low output turbo, so you may be on to something. I did try to develop a turbo unit with a reasonably wide power band. Anyway, am not currently at my gaming pc, so I'll just have to wait for the results and see.

Re: Automation Game Prototype Series

All my tests I done on Automation Basic Test Track so I dont know how it works on other tracks.

2.0 V8 Turbo 519 HP: 2:15,40
3.4 V8 ------- 537 HP: 2:12,89

All my tests with V8 Turbo engines of power around 700 HP finished with results from 2:17 to 2:22. Last one tested today done 2:17 but with reduced HP power to 640 HP or something like that.

Its my first that kind of competition so...

Re: Automation Game Prototype Series [ENTRIES CLOSED]

The results are in! (Well, not quite yet)

A few cars ran into some C++ errors when told that they had to run around La Sarthe. Hopefully I can get everything resolved soon and final results should be posted first thing tomorrow :)

So far the times are quite interesting  More to come soon!

Re: Automation Game Prototype Series [ENTRIES CLOSED]

After information from applepi66 some cars or only my are bugged on that map couse of rear wing and attachments. Removing them will stop the problems but cars will be a little slower - so, few tracks would need "app" to remove some body parts.

Tracks are: Circuit de la Sarthe, Green Hell, Daytona Sports Course. Those are identified. Just for working cars - remove some body parts. ;)

Hi. From my experience, you don't have to completely remove the rear wing. I have faced the same problem. You just have to find the appropriate setting for the simulation to work.

What's the next track?

Re: Automation Game Prototype Series [Round 1 Complete]

I realy surprised by the result of my Red Monster Prototype. Turbo one is definitely designed for a track with more turns, braking and accelerations with short straights. As begginer I think results are good.

e: applepi66, can you paste all rounds results into your first post?

Re: Automation Game Prototype Series [Round 1 Complete]

Then I will try to help you a little as far as I learnt. Be patient... as I drink beer.

All my test I done at Automation Test Track. Not that one we were facing. Result was 4:17,89 (at La Sarthe). [I forgot... I do test on 2.0 Turbo engine where I sucks]

Now I study my mistakes.

I dont look at engine now. Now I look mistakes at bodywork. First one... which is last one in car creation is suspension. Changing degrees I am not sure how it is in english correctly of rear one from -2,50 to -2,40 gave me time: 2:17,56. Improvment of 0,33 sec. Not bad by one move. Lowering it to -2,30 will rise up time to 4:20,39. So... by test we can achive some seconds just taking correct angles of suspension compared to our bodywork/track/engine etc.

We are now at 2:17,56.

Next one is difference between body and wheel. I have 239,1 mm. I suspected more turns... so. I see that circuit and lets try to lower it. Lets do test... (2-5 minutes) and lets lower it to 226.0 mm. We got 4:17,40. Lower than this time is rising. Decreasing that will make our car less angling at turns. So it should keep beter on track... but doing it too much can make our car in blocking wheels on turns. Something like this.

I am better 0,49 sec just changing 2 parameters of my car. Kind of very easy for each mechanic which I am not.

Going that way... you can achive body which you desire. Then you can arrange your engine to your bodywork. Good one (but time taking) is to create few more revisions of engine. And watch where each engine works good or bad. I cannot provide solution, maybe RaduST can give more information... as I am learning... but searching the answer "WHY" is straight way to success.

P.S. "Elasticity of the springs" ... hell... I dont know how it works.

Another one...

I used "Top Security" in my car. As I drive it I want to feel safe. I am not driving it - driver can die. Lowering it from top to zero... makes us safe 102.0 kg of body. Time dropped... from 4:17,40 to 4:15,40. 2 sec per 100 kg. I will not drive it! - but its faster now.
