Uh oh, down over fifty horsepower. I guess I'll have to make it up in the corners. :?

Re: International T/A Series [1967 Season] [Submissions Clos

Ha, mine is so much heavier. I did intentionally restrict myself from using the fiber glass body, since I thought it would be more "realistic" for my company to replace steel body panels of a road car with aluminum instead (like Alfa Romeo did with the GTA that competed very successfully in the early Trans-Am races).

That being said, the power/weight ratio tells a slightly different story:

Bogliq Buttercup: 10.98 lbs/hp
TA: 6.56 lbs/hp
TU: 8.02 lbs/hp
Kormar TA6: 9.3 lbs/hp
Brasovia Sport: 7.74 lbs/hp

I also neglected to add a wing, since I don't think this was very common at the time. I suspect intentionally handicapping my car in these ways won't help me on the track, and on top of it all I'm total crap at gearbox design. Nevertheless, I'm very interested to see what happens. I know when I was doing test runs around Laguna Seca, my car actually performed better with a lower horsepower tuning due to the wider power band and flatter torque curve, so I suppose we'll see how much these numbers end up telling us. Seeing as how it's my first competition, I'm not expecting much, but it will certainly be fun to compete!

Pretty happy with my TX's power and weight, but somehow I just know my suspension is going to completely let me down xD

First of all. Congrats to Luilakkie. You must be a wizard man. You TX is lightning fast, miles ahead anything else. You should post some screenshots with the beast.
Second of all, I'm surprised how well my TX did, given the fact that it's heaviest of them all. TU was comme ci comme ca for me. Just curious. Did any of you used V8s for lower COG and weight distribution in your TU cars? Cheers.

Well that was embarrassing  This is why I do these comps; I still have a LOT to learn about the Automation car designer! :o

But I had fun making my cars look pretty and that's all that matters in the end... :D (Still would have been nice to be a winner, lol  )

Green Hell may take me a while to run, guys... I'm having issues with the game crashing when I run cars on the circuit (RaduST posted about this in the support section, bug reporting thread, but so far neither his fix nor the other fix that was proposed is helping)

I'm going to need to spend some time figuring out if there's another way around it.

Decreasing the rear wing inclination worked for me... But i know it's not ok for the organizer to make alteration to the cars. I think everybody should check is they can run their car on the Ring. If not make the (legal) modification in order for the simulation to work and resubmit.

Re: International T/A Series [1967 Season] [Submissions Clos

Alright... I was able to correct the issue with one of the two problem cars. The other.... nothing I tried worked. Its creator has given me permission to just continue on. They will automatically receive last place. Please note: I will mark this car as "DNF", simply because I don't have a time for it. I am sure the car would have finished, thus it will still get the point for last place.

TX results for Green Hell:

1st - Luilakkie - 8:34.4
2nd - RaduST - 8:51.8
3rd - HighOctaneLove - 9:22.7
4th - applepi66 - 9:25.1

TU results for Green Hell:
1st - Luilakkie - 8:40.1
2nd - oppositelock - 8:43.9
3rd - RaduST - 8:47.1
4th - ekorch20 - 8:59.5
5th - HighOctaneLove - DNF

Next race is Albert Lake F1 circuit in Australia, and will be run on Monday.
