wew. 3rd highest power. that i didn't expect. also small V8 FTW

but... cars seems to have relatively low torque compared to the power

That's the main reason about why I dropped that option personally

I dropped it due to consumption of close to 35-40 liters / 100km. It was a 2 liter with 720 hp. Anyways, driveability was not that bad, about 27 IIRC, good gearing helped.

27 before the update?
To me that was nowhere near enough. Drivability is key as it will allow having no minor accident. I didn't see the point in trying to make a faster car over a lap and risk losing all that time gain because of a minor accident. And I could get to the weight limit even without turbo anyway so that was all fine.

However I might have gone a bit overboard with drivability as I went as far as using a suspension setup giving me the biggest amount of that, and thus having a negative impact on laptimes by not taking into account the track/car characteristics.

Still, I'm hopeful about the Interlagos race. Can't wait for it!

Yeaaaaaah.... I went with a Turbo here as an experiment. Drivability was very low. I'm pretty sure that's why I'm at the bottom of the leaderboards with my AP2 and AGTE cars.

Re: AMWEC '15 [2nd Race december 13th + AP2 SPOTTER GUIDE]

Initially, I was looking forward having a great deal of torque but that killed my drivability.
When I had a look at the rules and the sheet, I found out that drivability was key into making it to the distance, especially as I had done my car when major accidents were still here.
That's why my cars are awfully slow over a lap.

I've got my hands on making an AGTE trim, and I'm quite impressed by the fastest AGTE.

Sillyworld, you mentioned a loophole about engines. Which one is it?

26 out of 35 when it comes to times... Better than last time when the car was 30th.

I MUST KNOW, how Zeus is doing so much better, even if the laptimes show Sepang is at approximately the same pace.

Thanks for the race Sillyworld, you're awesome.

Re: AMWEC '15 [2nd Race results]

Well that's huge! P4 for the NV810. We're happy to see the car performing against very powerful entries.
The NV820 has probably badly been built then. We'll need to go back on the board to check our weaknesses.

Well done to the podium finishers!

He probably has a huge lot of drivability while still having a very powerful car.
I think my AP1 entry is very similar in terms of drivability compared to him, however he has an additional 200HP at disposal.

Thank you loads Sillyworld. Your work is impressive.

That and the fact that AGTE cars have 90 liters fuel tanks, which makes them slower when they're filled, but can run a long distance between pit stops. I should have baned DI and VVT for the AGTE class  these cars are powerful, have a high top speed and almost the same fuel economy as the AP1 Class cars.

Re: AMWEC '15 [2nd Race results]

Good question Squidhead... I knew my extra weight would be a slight disadvantage on a tighter track, and we're both using mediums.

I think my pit strategy helps, even more so with short races. I would only have required one, maximum two pit stops for fuel and maybe two or three stops for tyres. With that definitely the time gained by running the tank empty would definitely give me a bit extra over the extra pit stop. Also my car is very reliable so my pit stops are a little quicker. And the car is quite tame so I shouldn't get delayed by shunts and bumps much either.

It probably all adds up. It would be worth doing a direct comparison between the two!

EDIT: actually sillyworld has a point. I chose AGTE not just because it makes more sense for my company story, but also as it had the most liberal set of regulations. The budget of an extra 10 grand, given everything else, really only makes what... 0.5% difference tops :P
