Re: BRC QuER - Hockenheim 1000 km 1976 [OPEN]

thx salen. but that's the option for sprint and not endurance?

srry for the PMs Der Bayer, who knew going in the opposite direction with suspension sliders than what I had been doing would suddenly give massive lap time decreases?!

this is something i need to try.

suspension or dampers? or both?

Springs and Sways are made of Jello right now.... was good for almost 2 seconds off my time. Still finding more time and seriously looking at my engine for MORE POWAH!
I am now down to 2:20.17.... just uh.... no one look at my brake tab......

So do I need to redo my info file since I set it up for a longer race?

He might run a faster race overall if he was a tanker. I don't think that will bode well in an endurance race. I'm really curious as to the amount of time you stand to lose from stopping versus the amount of time you will lose as your tires wear over a long run.

So, 2:19.97, 112 kg per hour (looking at roughly 10 pits for the full 1000km if I did my maths right), 35.8 drivability, 34.3 sportiness.... so I better not crash, and if I do it shouldn't be bad! This car body was surprising. Too bad I have a bug that has caused the side mirrors to become invisible. :\

I think the rule set encourages more frequent stops. I don't know if you can build a fast enough economical race car that the faster cars can't just catch with fresh tires and insane amounts of power.

i cant open both of my car right now

What is happening for you? Try moving any irrelevant cars and engines to another location. Old files might cause problems.

^nope, sorry, still not working for me too

edit: actually no. 1 of the 2 cars that i made is crashing the tool. and the faster one is the one that is crashing :/

edit 2: found something interesting. if i pick the one that makes the tools crash, well it crashes. but when i pick the other one that's fine, AND THEN i change to the one that's crashing. it's NOT crashing.

Man, looks like I'll need to make a lot of improvements next time around. At least, my second entry should provide me with some amusement.

Just send me the files if it is doing weird things! :) Probably something is not reset properly, that's why it's not crashing in the second case.

Edit: Entries for the first practise session are now closed. But you can still build your car for the official practise session! Deadline is Monday, March 28.

Re: BRC QuER - Hockenheim 1000 km 1976 [OPEN]

i literally just sent the 2 cars :P

the "RNM1" is the one that's crashing.
the "RNM2" is fine.

picking the RNM2 first then the RNM1 seems not to crash, i've taken a short look on the info.lua, it seems to load okay i think?

also, finally found the one weak link that is slowing my car down. camber angles. i've been reluctant to go aggresive and stay on -0.70.
i think low 2:23 with that camber angle is actually more tham acceptable i think. go on -1.0 and boom, mid to low 2:22

Re: BRC QuER - Hockenheim 1000 km 1976 [OPEN]

I'm assuming switching drivers takes extra time. are there any numbers on that?
Are the driver swaps timed with the regular stops automatically? and what about emergency pit stops?

for example, if I set my pitstop time to 45 minutes. and my driver swap to 120 minutes. that would mean there is a scheduled pitstop at 90 and 135 minutes.. will the driver swap in one of the regular stops or is there an extra pitstop in between?
