Re: Automation Touring Car Championship [Race Seven Results]

Not bad. Not, obviously, mathematically what we were hoping for (given multiple previous statements hoping for a win in Canada) :P but given the new perspective on the tournament after that rather revealing Brands Hatch, certainly more in line with revised expectations, especially given the emphasis on the middle speed corners! I am now much more curious about Darkjedi's car, given a surging performance in these later stages.

Now I'm psyching myself out by what Leo called a very surprising result in VIR. That can either go very well, or very badly for my car, and given the recent trend, I'm pretty sure I know which one it's going to be. I'm bracing for impact

Race Eight: VIR

This race is brought to you by Insomnia and avoiding laying down doing nothing while thinking about things I'd better not think.

So we have random stat: economy. It means nothing other than how much boost you are running, or not in VicVictory's case. He made a eco grocery-getter. Just 0.1 litre to get the engine on his real car :P

The Results
These results are a proof to the benefits of good sportiness/tameness ratios. My car and strop's were heavily penalised by their undriveability on this track.
To simulate bumpiness on the track, I added a sport coefficient of 3 on the track's lua file. That lead to these surprising results.

Well, that was sure a shake-up in the standings...

But with no competition in Smolensk's foreseeable future, let us enjoy a celebratory vodka!

Cheers!

Re: Automation Touring Car Championship [Race Eight Results]

No surprises there! Well, not after seeing the condition of the road, we always knew it was going to be an abysmal finish

Let's do our best for the rest of the races! This will definitely influence our tuning in any future tournament (that we're intent on winning, that is).

Re: Automation Touring Car Championship [Race Eight Results]

Your tweaks are really making it interesting.

Even though it caused me to have my first race of the championship with no points.

And even though its not finished yet, I hope there is going to be a 1997 ATCC Season. I've been screwing around and made some decent engines. Now I just need to find decent cars to put them on.

Agreed, this has been a very well executed tournament, and I hope to use what I've learnt from this experience to make a better balanced car!
