I really have no concept of balance. Up until recently I would start with maximum power, then tweak the power curve slightly, then make the car as light as possible and tune from there. I'm in the thick of learning something new right now.
If anything so far this confirms at least at this stage that I should have gone for the larger air intercooler!
On the other hand, performance has been consistently just off the maximum pace (like the real HR31

), so I'll just wait to see how it stacks up across all the tracks.
EDIT: if I don't win that ludwigschafenring, then the car is definitely underpowered! This at least is helping me big time in terms of refining the testing process.
EDIT 2: Yep, agree with QuantoSolo that air-air would have been advantageous as it's the early power in my engine that's still lacking a bit. Having an air-air intercooler gives not only significant power gains, but significant room to move with widening the power band, which, in my case, would have given me a significantly better finish in all stages! I'll remember to pay more attention to that next time.
