That is all.

i highly doubt anyone would use it though :)

monocoque chassis started becoming viable for the average market since the 80s iirc?

Why isn't the mid-engined variant allowed?

Re: Riceburner Challenge - Defining Rules Stage

Have you ever worked on a mid engine car? Total pain in the ass. Wouldn't be suitable for 16 year old riders.

Re: Riceburner Challenge - Defining Rules Stage

By standard safety, you mean standard 80s, correct?

Re: Riceburner Challenge - Defining Rules Stage

Yes, I mean standard 80s.

Alright, so the budget for sport budget is wank, as Leo said.
How about this:
(The following numbers are the prices that the cars sell for with a 0% profit, if you're confused, I mean the price stated here:)
Image
$17000 limit for base models.
$19000 limit for premium models.
$20000 limit for sport models.
It's only really possible to max out these numbers if you use mild quality sliders, I think they're pretty reasonable.
On the subject of quality sliders, I think we should impose a production units limit too. Any suggestions?

Also, rules have been updated in the OP regarding fuel systems and chassis and panels and such. Also added a rule stating that all models including the sport must have entertainment systems. Before telling me this is bad, bear in mind they're sport cars, not race cars.

Re: Riceburner Challenge - Defining Rules Stage

I can make a car that scores high on the converstible sport budget with 75% of the max limit, and that car has a tiny 2494 cc v8

Re: Riceburner Challenge - Defining Rules Stage

Don't pay attention to the markets, they're too broken to use to be honest.
Also, Blasterspewpew, feel free to tell me any issues.

Re: Riceburner Challenge - Defining Rules Stage

The only thing that bugs me a little is the tire limitations, base should be allowed to use the hard long life since well.....its cheap! Other than that I think this will be fun :D

Hm... I'll add that.

Tomorrow I'll add the specific areas in which your cars are going to be judged, and I'll show you the points system. After that, I'll open the entries.

Re: Riceburner Challenge - Defining Rules Stage

i don't really get why the mid engine Miata is banned. The Mr2 was Mid engine, the Pontiac Fiero was mid engine, I think it would make for some interesting competition, don't you think?

Re: Riceburner Challenge - Defining Rules Stage

Yes, they would make for good competition but as I said, they're a pain in the ass to work on and don't make sense from an RP perspective.
Ricers prefer Miatas and S2000s over MR2s for a reason.
