Re: Man With a Van Challenge! (Open to Entries)

It is just the one titled "Service Costs" I will probably use Gasmea, but it doesn't really matter, since if I judge them all in the same area, the score should still be the same.

But the way the scores interact due to differing weightings will change. You MUST specify which region you are going to use or the process loses transparency.

Also, yes, you say you're just "going to use the one titled service costs", but there's a lot of things titled service costs. Read my post from before, do you mean that one?

Re: Man With a Van Challenge! (Open to Entries)

I guess I've still got quite a couple things to learn about this new update.

I'll Change "Service Costs" to every running cost in the car's segment. This Includes Service Costs, Insurance Costs, and the Tax Base. The cars will be Judged In Gasmea because that is the default.

ok sounds good to me! I made a few, uh, atypical engineering choices in my van. I wonder if they'll pay off...

This should be a brilliant challenge actually. It so simple and organised it's one of the more fun competitions :) . Can't wait to see how my Car-GO! Does despite the cheesy name  .

I figure I can throw my weight (and the cargo) around in this challenge. This should be fun.

Where do I submit an entry? I'm new (clearly) and have never done a challenge, but this one's got me interested.

Suddenly, a wild Enry appears.

"So... y'all want to hear something about our new project? It's turbocharged, rear wheel drive, bare-bones.... and can safely bring your cargo across the country at reasonable speeds. You fell for that, didn't ya? I love some good trolling once in a while, your faces were memorable. We're making a van."

I would like to present my van, the Baltazar Andromeda 3.2 Lux.

I feel like someone must have thought of using this name before, if that is the case, please tell me

Re: Man With a Van Challenge! (Open to Entries)

i suggest adding some sort of awards, rather than just 1 overall winner

like
'best engine award' or
'lowest fuel consumption' or
'biggest capacity in the class'

or something a bit more tricky if you're willing.
show all the submission, and make a poll for people to vote, then give it the 'people's choice award'

your thoughts?

While I'm still busy tweaking and optimising the setup of my van, I won't change the aesthetics so here it is, the AMW Express:

Re: Man With a Van Challenge! (Open to Entries)

I think minimum number of seats means that if the minimum is 4, it should be acceptable. Though that may place you at a disadvantage for other things in the challenge...

As usual my van is rather quick, that is all I'm going to say  It's not so agile, though, because it weighs nearly 1900kg...

@Leo: I think I know what you were getting at, but a search of the Automation forums only turned up this result, from quite a while ago.

Re: Man With a Van Challenge! (Open to Entries)

I do like the People's Choice Award idea.. That said, the top 5 Vans will get the same reward, so coming first place has little advantage over placing fifth, so I consider that pretty balanced.

@thecarlover, you hit the "Export" button in sandbox mode on your car, and send me a private message that contains the car's .zip file.
