Re: PIF Design Challenge [Green Group Thread]

Okay, now here's the challenge for rileybanks:

Ever since you were a kid, your dream was to work for Ferrari. So you finished your apprenticeship at a local workshop and applied for different manufacturers (because, in case Ferrari don't accept you, working for another company is still better than not having a job).
Unfortunately, your dream popped like a bubble when Ferrari declined your appication, but Jaguar accepted instead.
Your effort for Jaguar has been great and you have quickly built up a high reputation as being one of their best engineers. And Jag's freshest project is to build an RS-version of the F-Type. Even faster than the R it should be, and as always with looks to die for and to prove how serious this plan is, the chassis and panels are even made from carbon fibre.
Image

The first prototype of it even ran round the Airfield track in less than 1:21. So far so good, but it needs some more polishing until it can finally be revealed. It is supposed to be at a big car show next week and it is your job to apply the final changes.

However, yesterday you got a phone call from Ferrari, saying they now have an offer for you because they've realized how skilled and how passionate you are at work. But there is another contender for the free spot, and you have to prove to be better than them in order to claim it. How, you ask, and of course you've told them about the RS concept because you're so excited about it.
They see the RS as a potential competitor to the California T, and if a Jaguar would be faster than a Ferrari, that would be a huge disappointment for all the Ferrari fans and so on. Ferrari wants the F-Type RS to fail. So your job is to deliberately make the F-Type RS slower but in such a way that only you can tell the differences. It should not only be slower than the F-Type R, but it should be at least 1.5 seconds slower round the Airfield track than the R. But of course, you can't change obvious things like the engine setup because if somebody runs the car on a dyno, they'll notice a lack of power. You also can't remove any of the aerodynamic fixtures because... well, there's nothing more obvious than a visual change.
They recommend you to only retune the gearing and the suspension because nobody at an autoshow would notice any of these flaws.

Goal:
- make this car SLOWER than it is, so that it does the Airfield track in 1:23.1 (or SLOWER)

Rules:

- you can ONLY change two things:
- Suspension tuning on the trim section (don't swap out those active sport springs or the semi active dampers!)
- The gear ratios (not the gearbox type or the top speed!)

Also, you're not allowed to change any quality sliders.

EDIT: My bad. I didn't know we now have to send Model, Trim, Engine family AND engine variant in order for it to work. So i attached the zip folder instead. You have to load this car, and then edit it according to the rules.

Good luck!

Greets,
Tom

I had finished it and was just waiting to come back to a Wifi signal. For now, I'll let titleguy1 do it and post mine once he completes it.

Re: PIF Design Challenge [Green Group Thread]

Here's my entry. I managed to get a time over 1:23.1, although the suspension might be noticeably different... >: P

I'll make a challenge once mine is verified.

Re: PIF Design Challenge [Green Group Thread]

I can't open it, if i download the file it gets displayed as "file.php" which is pretty weird.

Also, the challenge was to make the car SLOWER, not faster. The time should be 1:23.1 or HIGHER.

That's what I meant, sorry.

I don't know about the file, however, let me send it again, see if it's different.

Re: PIF Design Challenge [Green Group Thread]

OK, Harizvet, here's your challenge.

Your company just made the single most boring car, ever. But, they're now making a super-sport GT version of it. It's your chance to beat out the competition!
Restrictions:
Year 2015.
At least 200 HP.
Max engine size 1.6 Turbo or 2.0 NA.
0-60 < 7.0 seconds.
Maximum price $11,000.
No RWD.
Safety > 60.
Sportiness > 30.
Laps the Airfield Test track in under 1:30.00.
Emissions < 100.
That's it! should be fairly simple.
