Re: Perfect Race car Challange

Couple more questions:

Any limitation to quality on the safety?
Minimum reliability of engine and or overall?

Cars: A Birel Go Kart. I can't remember the full chassis name. 4-stroke, Honda GX160, makes around 5-hp (With limiter)

Re: Perfect Race car Challange

In the OP it says that the saftey has to be set at Advanced 10s. And not any reliability factors involved. Some racing engines could explode at any moment!

Re: Perfect Race car Challange

May I request that reliability be at least above zero? Because you can cheat by making overpowered engines that break or, more importantly, have zero ventilation, which would actually be (IMO), cheating.

Re: Perfect Race car Challange

Well the engine cannot break. That is one thing that would be important to put into the rules. So yes, the reliability of the engine will be above zero. Glad that you asked that!

Re: Perfect Race car Challange

So it should be no surprises as to which car I'm intending to enter into this competition.

What may strike some as strange is that it will have markedly less power than the original car...

Re: Perfect Race car Challange

Strop is perfectly fine. He is right here, typing this post, at the computerbox. He has not been abducted by aliens at all, the very notion is ridiculous!

Seriously man, when you have ABS, TC and ESC, the car lets you get away with a bit more, but since we can only use power steering, it really does mandate some judicious management of the torque curve... if I want a car that does Nordschleife in under 7 minutes that is! ...and that's not even an appropriate track to be testing these cars on anyway, given Brands Hatch and the AT Test track are in the lineup! Oh god my car's bleeding horsepower :(

Re: Perfect Race car Challange

Why am I so tempted to scrap my original race car idea in favour of kubby's huge 70s sedan 4 Teh lulz? You'll be horrified to learn how fast I've made it (and that wasn't even with stripped interior).
