Thanks for that Der Bayer. I didn't think anyone was cheating, I just wanted to let you and everyone else know about the potential exploit because it could be very easily done by accident.

I present the precursor to my previous entries. The Picard Exam and it's smaller engined variant, Picard Example.

The downloadable format of the spreadsheet doesn't have the cell for the car name. :ugeek:

Oh, so we should leave all Quality settings at zero? I thought I read that using Tech Pool/Quality sliders was ok in previous challenges.

Oops, it will be fixed.

Tech Pool is "free Quality", like you have in some scenarios. You could edit the .lua file and give yourself some free quality, but that's cheating. Use of quality is fine of course.

I see. Thanks for clarifying.

How are we sending the cars? The .lua file is our name? Where do we type the car's name?

Err... yes, there is. Second point in the "How do you participate" list.

First point in the "How do you participate" list: "Build a car in Automation (with the right manufacture year 1977) and save it with your nickname as as car name (attach a "2" to you second car, e.g. "nickname2")." Same for the .txt file.

It's all in the same file, you should have pages listed at the bottom. You can switch to calculator sheet there.

BTW is it just me or is it particularly hard to score high (compared to other groups) in mid sport? Whatever improvements I make my buyer score barely improves there, meanwhile trackday, GT and supercar gain whole bunch of points. Even slashing my price to completely unsustainable levels doesn't seem to do all that much to improve MS group score so it's not like I'm overpricing it. Honestly I'm scoring better in L$$$ than in MS. Even my family car with barely any sportiness is only few points behind, even at same price! I must be doing something wrong I guess.

Re: CTC - Car Tycoon Challenge #4 - 1977 [BUILD]

In Mid Sport you need a pretty balanced car, so it is a bit harder to get high scores, especially because you have to find a good compromise between tameness and sportiness. But the absolute numbers don't mean anything at all, just the differences to the competition.

Hmm two cars per player, now that opens a lot of possibilities. Decisions decisions...

And just to be sure following the debate about tech, is it ok to unlock better options by using higher quality, of course all legitimely in game? I recall some options can be unlocked with quality and some only with year.

Quality is fine, techpool is not.

The reason I brought up the point is that with the current version of the game, the only way you should be able to get techpool is through lua file editing. However, I found a way of getting techpool without lua file editing which someone could very easily do by mistake and end up unknowingly getting their car banned.
