Here is the last, much awaited result! Including the comments on the car itself.

Now. I want to say thank you to 6 tester of the challenge, that includes mer_at, NormanVauxhall, Der Bayer, Drake, strop and Leonardo9613. I also want to thank Leo for the table that make the result table much nicer and easier to make. And lastly I want to thanks everybody who participates, without you guys this wouldn't be a possibility. :)

What do you mean you didn't notice VTEC kicking in, VTEC kicked half the field.

Also more table.

Re: Automation Lemons Time Attack Challenge! [RESULT]

Oh, yeah, I guess I AM the sweariest guy on IRC...

It seems that sayonara's table strongly suggests that power to weight was instrumental to overall performance, which isn't that surprising as many of the tracks were more straights variously punctuated with corners rather than, say, suzuka or brands hatch. That, and that Leo decided to go just as nuts on power as I did, would be the only reason I got away with using MacPherson front and rear :P

The format turned out to be a great idea, an added challenge of balancing age and cost. Thanks for hosting Conan!

Technically I'm not allowed to swear outside the IRC. So please take this as an indicator of how shit your car was.

I'm pretty sure he was mentioning the fact that he didn't censor your car's name ;)

strop wrote:...which isn't that surprising as many of the tracks were more straights variously punctuated with corners rather than, say, suzuka or brands hatch...

I guess that was my short falling, I just had this power number that I wanted to get, I didn't care for drivability or anything else, well, I didn't have money to do it, even if I wanted to. My biggest issue was not paying close attention to the track list, I focused on Pikes Peak, therefore my car has lots of downforce, something that wasn't really useful for 6 of the other tracks...oops.

Congrats to the winner, and great job, Conan!

Re: Automation Lemons Time Attack Challenge! [RESULT]

Oh yeah, when, that makes much more sense

Lucky for me the tracks were what they were, as I just tuned for Green Hell and didn't even test for any of the tracks in the tournament LOL

Re: Automation Lemons Time Attack Challenge! [RESULT]

Yes we knew it was a time attack, but we had the car and it was a lemon to begin with so it was perfect.... Considering we got 3rd place ;)

3rd worst car is just a second winner! Not even the first winner!
