Catalunya Results

The time has come to reveal the results of the third race! This one was VERY tight at the peak of the leaderboard for this one, with just 0.2 seconds separating the top FOUR drivers! There was also some more shifting in the positions, so there's still no telling who's going to finish where!

Pyrlix lost his spot at the top of the tree after a disappointing time in Barcelona, and Leonardo was on hand to snatch the lead thanks to a very close and well-fought win!

And here are the total standings after the third race:

Keep your eyes peeled for the results for the fourth race! Cheers!

Well, while my car is apparently not a winning build, it is extremely consistent.

And it's consistently high-placed!

Re: The Japanese Power Pact [RACE 2 RESULTS]

Yeah, the problem is, I am the only one in the top 4 who hasn't won any race. Which is why I am 4th in the standings.

But we haven't completed half the championship yet, and the top 4 has been very tight in all three races for now, so there is still a lot of hope.

If I have to make any bets for the final rankings, it would be that the top 4 would be me, Leo, Drake and Pyrlix.
In which order I have no idea though, only time will tell.

Re: The Japanese Power Pact [RACE 2 RESULTS]

Trackpaduser's performance in this tournament has been quite similar to mine in ATCC2. Top four, never won.

Meanwhile super consistency continues with another 11th! I'm clearly occupying a different tier with this laid back build.

Re: The Japanese Power Pact [RACE 2 RESULTS]

One difference though is that there isn't a car that's obviously better than the others.

The top four has been within one second in all 3 races, while in the ATCC 2 there was at least a .5 second difference between 1st and 2nd in most races.

So there is still hope.

I wonder what are the stats of the different cars though, or at least the stats of the top 4.

Re: The Japanese Power Pact [RACE 2 RESULTS]

The general trend seems to be the lighter your car is, the better chance you have, especially when there is a power limit. :)

@Pleb: How much do you think power/torque curve influenced these results?

Re: The Japanese Power Pact [RACE 2 RESULTS]

I think that tameness has a huge impact on the results, and some of that will surely be due to a flat torque curve, as well as good brakes and tyres. Often people with some 20 or less sportiness but good tameness still beat more sporty cars with less tameness.

Re: The Japanese Power Pact [RACE 2 RESULTS]

Tameness should only influence in certain tracks, which have sportiness values of more than 0, thus implying a time penalty when the tameness hasn't got a higher value that the sportiness.

Considering the limitations, the two biggest should be for how long you can have 276 hp and how light the car is.

My turbo set up has a plateau of power of about 2000 rpm, which could be higher if the engine was bigger, but that would imply more weight, which is something I was avoiding at all costs. Pyrlix made his car with a big NA engine, set with a very low cam profile, so the power curve would be flat at the top end.

Re: The Japanese Power Pact [RACE 2 RESULTS]

I am going to recheck mine, but the power curve is not that flat.

Made something which was almost like an electric engine, with 260+HP from 2000 to 8000RPM, but it was slower than my current engine. Probably due to the tameness penality caused by the torque curve.
In addition to that it caused lua errors for some reason.

Grand Valley Results

Here are the results from the fourth race of the JPP! This track features a variety of large straights and sweeping turns, as well as some tricky chicanes, so this was anyone's game. Here are the results!

Image

And here are the standings! The battle between me and Eskuda still goes on, with Eskuda coming out on top to knock me down to 14th place, while the Baltazar Quark continues to perform well, despite being named after a watery cheese.. :P
