It's completed. :) To install the car, unzip the archive inside ~\Automation\assets\meshes\cars\Mid\small. Currently, the mesh only fits if you use the double wishbone suspension in the front.

The car is available from 1974 and onwards. I'll also update my popup headlamp package soon. Some of the smaller modifiers can be difficult to detect. Since both the Lotus Esprit and the Dino 308 were rather small cars, massive V8 or very long I6 engines won't fit, but you can still fit decent engines into it if you mount the engine transversely.

Nice one, we definitely needed wedge ridiculousness, is higher poly than the vanilla models? i noticed some tiny details here and there, but that vent on the hood should be removed imho, good luck on the first car body mod of the forums! :D

Woo - the esprit was one of my fave cars growing up. (007's fault)

Although was I the only one to right click the pic and try to spin it round?

Yay! It's great to see someone modelling more bodies! When I read that you had years of experience in 3D work, I hoped you would model some bodies. I look forward to the finished product! I'm currently embarking on the journey of modelling some taillights, and I have about 1 month of experience, so wish me luck, I'll need it! :P

Great work!

The vent and the bumper are just placeholders. :) I'm keeping the car below 9,000 polygons.

Thank you for the feedback.

Thank you. Making the bodywork of a car isn't that difficult or time consuming, really. :) What takes the most time is modelling the interior, the details, and so on. This site has a great selection of blueprints.

Mesh render so far. :) The polycount now is roughly 3800 per side. The placeholders have been removed, and the bumper is now part rubber, part bodycolor (I sacrificed some minor authenticity details to make it more interesting for the player to work on).

Can it be made to look like the BMW M1?
