Thanks.

I don't know, as long as the mesh you end up with has the right sort of structure etc. it SHOULD work. Try it!

Currently, alphabetically by folder name

Are you sure it's working as intended?

My first grille is second from last, my 2nd grille is sixth (seventh after I put my WIP in there) and my WIP 3rd grille is third, even though they are all called KubbyGrille<x>

That... doesn't sound right, they should all be after the existing ones because it starts with K... hmm.

In Automation works... but a middles (download the file and look: the UVMesh is the original).

Grille13.rar
(35.37 KiB) Downloaded 714 times

I need the example grille for 3ds max 2010.

OK, a note you might want to add to the "things an Automation modder should know" - Automation does not support multiple smoothing groups on one polygon. Will it change with the Unity switch?

And another thing. I'm trying to make the fibreglass thingy the european Civic VIII had instead of a grille, and I'm failing miserably so far.

First I just exported the fiberglass part and what is inside is as one mesh. It rendered the inside art of the grille transparent, and I know I assigned the materials correctly
Then I went to the headlights parts.lua file. and got a separate glass and insides mesh. The part is set as it is a headlight (still in grilles category of course) Now the insides are visible, while the plexiglass is not (when I'm using the ECS_HEADLIGHT material, ECS_MISSINGNO works (It's not what I want obviously)). You can see that on the attachment.

I have a problem. When I convert my line/spline to an editable patch, then an editable poly, it turns the whole thing into triangles, and erases the middle of the grille.

Any help is appreciated. :)

Convert it to editable poly instead.

I did that, and it made the outer edge of the grille an outline, and still no middle part. I have decided to start again and see if I have any similar problems.

Oh well. Next time, show the spline cage as well.

That's going to happen if the spline structure isn't complete and it can't build a mesh out of some bits of it. Post a screenshot of the splines and I can tell you what's missing.

Where do I get the materials shown in the tutorial? Are they the .dds files supplied in the folder? Also, how do I import them to 3DS Max?

If you put them in the same folder as the max file, then it'll load them automatically (it should anyway)
