Re: Modding Tutorial 1 - Making Grilles

Ok, I got the grille basically working, but the materials were strange. And I went back into 3DS Max to edit the placement of the grille a bit, and exported the grille and UV Mesh and replaced the old files. Now whenever I select my grille, the game crashes. I have no idea what I did wrong.

If anyone can help, PM me. :)

Re: Modding Tutorial 1 - Making Grilles

Can I use 3DS Max Design 2013 for this? And would it be more or less difficult than 3DS Max? :?:

Yes, you can, no it would not be any more or less difficult.

Can we do anything for this game if you have 3Ds Max 2015? The Kajira export tools do not work, so I do not seem to be able to import stuff either.

Kajira ONLY works in 3ds max 2010 up to 2013 edition, and ONLY in the x86 (32 bits) edition of the program (and you can run in computer with x86 windows or x64 : if you had a computer with x64 (64 bits) processor, you can run x86 programs (to solve all possible questions).

Ok, thanks. Still have a question though. Does anyone know where to find the 2013 version of 3Ds Max? I can only get the 2015 version on trial it seems.

If you are a student you can get it for free.

There are also less legal alternatives.

Where can I get it then? I only the 2015 version is available from Autodesk, as far as I know. And in a way I'm a student, PhD-student that is, so that should work for Autodesk I think.

You can get every version back to 2012 from the Autodesk student website, and it doesn't matter much what kind of student you are.

Re: Modding Tutorial 1 - Making Grilles

I just got a student license and downloaded 3ds Max 2016, so I guess I can't export models with it? They only had 64 bit versions of 2014 to 2016 available.

Nope, only 32-bit versions from 2010 to 2013 are supported for now. It's just been discussed on another thread.
