Erm, why? Your restrictions clearly state super unleaded, which is 98 RON.

Re: Ringmasters league

I've been away from the board and the game for a while but yesterday I decided to see how the game was progressing and, oh my, look at all the shiny new toys to play with.

So anyway, I thought I'd throw my hat in the 'ring. (bad pun intended)

Beautiful use of headlights, I've been trying to get that style of a few of my older cars but it's never come out right.

E types, old Datsun Z's (both racing models and street aftermarket covers), the light weight ferrari's from the 60's (250,260,265,270,275) and a bunch more classics, you did a great job with them, but I think the sedan should have a slightly bigger engine, maybe bump it up to 2.5 or 2.6?

I tried that, and back when I was working on the iCute I even tried a max-power 3.x L that made ~690hp. Believe it or not they were all marginally slower around the ring than the original 2.3. Since there's a cost cap in effect the only way to increase displacement is to reduce quality elsewhere (namely, the fuel system and top end) because bigger bore blocks cost more money and the 2.3 is already quite undersquare and spinning itself to within an inch of the 60k mtbf limit. The end result is that the bigger engine is quite a bit heavier and, because of the efficiency penalty of reducing the quality of the fuel system, the increase in power isn't really enough to offset that.

Re: Ringmasters league

Two Krakozian companies have joined the challenge. Only one will get government support after Green Hell test runs.

Kozlibak Carz has put most of its resourse in developing a high-torque lightweight 6cyl turbo - which drained the company completely. So they put it in its mass production Stunnedroach hatch - with only modest design changes.
Having lost the competition to its rival Magarach (see next post), Kozlibak engineers still believe it was possible to beat 8 minute mark while keeping fuel consumption under 8l/100km...

Magarach Dynomixers took its old "people's car" Rollingbarrel and reworked it to marry with a trophy 5.5l V8, which was tuned by a hostage German engineer in a secret bunker.
Having won the government grant, It is now acquiring the Kozlibak and working on a new contender desgn...
