Mustard and
Yunque tracks are very useful in that matter.
The Pelikan is also interesting because it's very sensitive with aerodynamics and drivetrain/power engine tweaks.., e.g., you can be improving your times in the first tracks and then a new test in the Pelikan and... holy cr.p! hehe.

Thanks. Well I guess you could make it with Gimp. You need some textures (or patterns) and fill the layers (the track, sand banks, background,etc) and then some details

You just need patience, try things here and there and... practice (lots I'd say).
