Lol hydromatic 3 speed that's hilarious. Close to 7 minutes is quite good for that body. What are your production units?

Re: 2016 Geneva International Auto Show

Well, time for the Hatch-8:

"Hatch-7 production went on way too long. We know that, and the age was clearly showing. By 2015 we had to discontinue it due to it failing new safety standards that were about to be passed. We are still coasting on unsold Hatch-7 stock, even though production ended April last year. Anyway, this is not the Hatch-7, it's the successor to the Hatch-7. Using a new high-strength platform, with Full-Time AWD available on some models, and Turbos on all 4-cylinder models, it does embrace the modern day of turbos sadly replacing NA. It's available in 4 trim levels right now, GV 1.4T, DX 1.6T, DXi 1.6T, and LX 1.6T, with an economy-oriented version and a performance version coming soon. The 1.6L Turbo-4 used on the DX, DXi, and LX models uses Direct Injection and produces 144 hp and 152 ft-lbs of torque, which allows 45 MPG, good enough for most. More info coming soon."

900+

Of course this car is supposed to be crazy in a way and I don't know what the prod units would be on a Chiron or Regera.
But those prod units maybe go hand in hand with $2.2 million pricetag or maybe they dont, I'm not sure...

Yeah the transmission is one funny problem :) I actually did real research for this and it appears modified GM automatics are the only things out there that can handle 2000+ Nm off the shelf. If you have a uber-monster engine nearing 2000 hp and cannot afford to develop a custom greabox, you're pretty much stuck with 2 and 3-speed autos. I guess that's why drag racers still use them. Yeah Bugatti has a nice DSG but what would that cost to develop?

Re: 2016 Geneva International Auto Show

Absolutely, in lore terms developing a six speed box (the most durable of its kind in the world) was one thing that nearly sent GG broke, among many other things.

I had a number of things planned for this, including a story for titleguy1 that was supposed to be finished before the end of last year. Everything is running late and I've been commenting as I've been meaning to get my stuff together, but I simply don't have the energy for it right now! So I guess I'm going to have to come late to the party.

Re: 2016 Geneva International Auto Show

Gentlemen, please ... Take a seat.

Here we have the fastest and most powerful vehicle Normandy has ever built. It has and 8.0L 40V Biturbo V8 with 2800+ HP, 2000+ Torque, and a seven speed, double clutch, AWD sequential gearbox.

It will round green hell in 6:40, and (as of right now at least) top out at 427. With some further technical tweaking, it should easily exceed 450.

I present, for your approval, the Normandy Valhalla. But I call it the Track Breaker.

6:40?
Diabolica does it in 4 seconds less with 2 less driven wheels, 1.6 less liters, 24 less valves, 1 less gear and with 1600 less hp :D

The rear is pretty cool though.

Re: 2016 Geneva International Auto Show

Yeah but how do I come up with a story that makes believeable a road car with 3000 hp? I thought my Patriot Jetfighter was supposed to be crazy

If I run it with only rwd, the tires explode. Plus, the drive is set with 85% to the rear.

Re: 2016 Geneva International Auto Show

Yeah, I figured. The whole car seems to be based on "big numbers to wow the crowd", but in all honesty that makes it seriously overweight and frankly overkill. You can achieve better results if you scale the lunacy down

Re: 2016 Geneva International Auto Show

Speaking of hypercar performance efficiency.

I can tell you that Patriot engineers were amazed at their recent Bonneville tests. Testing a one-off quad-cam 32V version of their Super Stomper 572 V8, they were able to clock 291 mph (468 kph).

But that was not the amazing thing. Amazing was that acceleration did not improve ONE BIT with 350 hp added over the "stock" engine. So to anyone thinking that pushrod engines are
dead and gone, Patriot sought improvements by means of multivalve technology - but found none  . It seems that efficiency comes in many forms.

And here I am designing a Flug Stolz for 1978 with a mighty 80hp 2.7 12 valve...
