Do you also have one that you just cant stop tweaking? If so, why? (Also feel free to comment on the Brutaliser or other cars that hopefully pop into this thread)

Why the Brutaliser? I think it is because, if a company actually made something like this for real 1990. A "cheap" car with extreme performance that would actually be reasonably usable. Then it would be certifiably awsome. It also has some 80s charm left in it, and I love the idea of a transverse 2449cc i6... sure it drinks fuel like a rotary. Well it should really be used in the higher parts of the rev range, but you cant force that into the mpg calculation.


None of the quality sliders were touched and as you can see its not really optimized for any particular role. Its just something I would love to beat on.

Oh, btw its just basic interior and no entertainement... Throw in some leather and a fancy stereo and a more fancy clientele will start taking it seriously (though they do detest the scrub plastic bodywork)

Quite a nice car. If I were to recommend something, I'd recommend that you replace them big black vents on either side on the front and back with bits of black plastic trim.

My company has a very small lineup, because it also has a very short history and there's only so many cars you can cram into the development cycle even when you work your staff around the clock so you stay fresh and don't go under. Each of them, therefore, are all very different, but have something in common: they go fast. My idea was to create a lineup of hypercars to cover the different kind of drivetrains (FR, AWD, MR, and maybe even FF lol, who makes an FF hypercar).

But probably the most enduring one that I absolutely keep remaking over the versions is the Mephisto. It's changed so many times that I'll just link you to the summary from where you can see the other stages. But the essence is that it's a front-engined, AWD track racer (think Nismo GTR), except it also has 2000hp and a top speed of >400km/h, but also goes around a track stonkingly fast. The main problem is that I did this by habitually setting most of the tech sliders to +15.

Now that affordability is in the game, and after that, (based on current state of closed beta) tooling costs and engineering time are also going to come into it, I will have to find a way to make it more realistic. Furthermore, lateral grip seems to have been reduced significantly, to make more realistic values on the skidpan testing, but also completely destroying all the times on the track, which I hope will also be eventually coupled with better track simulation. I'm also hoping to use at least a V12 in the Mephisto, but for that to be workable, turbos will also have to be updated somehow. So, until all of those things are balanced out, I actually can't remake Mephisto into anything like it ought to be!

Your Mephisto is beautiful and one can see the love lavished upon it. Personally I love your Nightfury! Maybe not so surprising considering its closer to what I tried to do with my car, both with the AWD and from a looks standpoint to (though yours is way more refined)

But I do think you are setting yourself up for disappointment with the quality sliders. One of reasons that I haven't played with them yet is that it will be very rewarding "upgrading" a refined design as more of the tycooning and progression elements go into the game.

My company lineup is small as well (roughly one new base every 10 years) like yours its its focus on speed but instead of different things it will follow a set path focused on lightness and hogh reving i6 engines. I might switch over to b6 depending on how viable they are when they hit the game, but I basically want to have one big and one small engine family that I constantly keep updating for a majority of the companys lifetime (even if that means casing blocks in new materials and other major reworks) I hope that such a focused approach will net quality and cost advantages in the actual tycoon part of arrive so that I can get stuff out early and good, with better margins than my competitors.

I agree, it was a bit of a mistake abusing the sliders as I did, but I was mostly interested in pushing the limits of the game then. The losses from going for a more realistic approach are offset by the improvements in available tech (LSD, active aero, suspension etc.) In more recent updates. I actually went back and created a "lite" version of that Mephisto with a much more realistic budget and it actually does do very well in the hypercar segment along with performing well on track. The only drawback was that it only develops 1400hp or so.

"only" 1400hp... I thought my 365hp might had been a bit excessive. Sure its a 25 years old car, but it is a figure that forces some tradeoffs for something that is considered by some as a non premium family sports car. (If only the mpg calcs could be based on a bit higher revs)

Then again you are are aiming for a different market than me, were does your budget Mephisto fall in on the market tab?

In the year 2015, it was getting a 108.7 or so on the Hypercar market in Gasmea. This is after I also detuned it to take 95RON so it could also sell in Fruinia, and gave it a bit of infotainment. I think it was MRSP around 230000?

...it's also pretty rubbish at most other things Which is hardly a surprise.

Also, in 1990, 325hp was considered quite excessive. It's just the scales have gone a bit barmy a bit in the last decade or so, since the Veyron.

When you start making track cars, every last second counts. So they're not going out until I can come withing 15 seconds of strop's designs.

I set Strop's designs as a benchmark to see if I can get remotely close. Helps practice fine tuning your cars in this game.

Uh yeah about that, I don't think I've actually released any times from the current version, because they've all been generally a bit disappointing It's getting increasingly harder to design a car (within reasonable limits) that can actually get around Green Hell in under 7 minutes, when I know for sure that their real life equivalents should be able to do so. There's some work left to be done on balancing... note how Der Bayer's BROBOT system makes cars go a lot faster because they do more realistic cornering.

I guess it depends on your definition of reasonable limits

I have a pair actually, by far my favorite is the Commune, it's gotten to the point I'm actually thinking of having it launch as a sub brand of Centauri I've made so many trims and variants, the other is the Buffalo, that's an concept I've been on and off with for quite a few game versions now I have way too much fun seeing how many cars costing full decimal points more I can make it faster and more economical then.

The Comune is a nice hatch, but i must say I love the styling of your Omega. I like that you consider that torque curve for your hotter cars rather that just the peak numbers.

I have certainly tweaked the decimals on the brutalizer to its not an accident that its sportiness is 55.0 when I do tweaks to it these day, I keep it at that number and try to optimize other stats with that remaining constant. So even if I can squeeze more sportiness out of it at the expense of other things it keep me in check from doing to excessive stuff.

Airborne Haiyan. Still creating variations that may power up this wild supercar
