The Year is 1974, Only one year since the 1973 Oil Crisis, and one bussiness man who went by the name of Marc Shromet, was considered to be not very bright by many. He always did things in his own way, despite all advice, all reasoning, and all real logic. So right after the 1973 Oil Crisis, right after the stock market crash, Market Shromet Decided to go into business and open up an automobile Company. Why? Marc Shromet Was always a fan of nice cars, but upon learning the truth that he was driving a car that used leaded fuel, and was poisoning people, he became outraged, and wanted to make something cleaner, something faster, something better.

The Shromet Dragon was his first creation. It came in 2 variants, A reasonable 4/5 Door Sedan that makes 185 Horsepower and 194 Pound Feet of Torque. It came available only with a 3 speed automatic Transmission. The car boasted 0-60 in less than 11 seconds and a top speed of 120 Miles per hour.

The Sporty Coupe Version was a lot faster, getting from 0-60 in 7.5 Seconds with a top speed of 140 Miles Per Hour. But it was a bit different. It used the same 4.2 Liter V8, but it was a turbo charged engine. Something not seen since the Oldsmobile Jettfire and only just starting to come back into relevance. In order to encourage people to buy the turbo charged variant, it was the only one available on the 2 door, manual versions of the dragon.

So, how did it do? It failed. Horribly. Why? it was 1975. The Stock market had just taken a huge hit, people weren't looking for sports cars. Even for those that did look into it, There weren't enough places to service Turbo charged engines, so once it went, you either fix it yourself or throw it away. Plus, There where very few unleaded gas stations, which, the car needed to use. Although Marc Shromet failed, he had tasted success, and felt that if he just got it right, he could make this car business work. After all, he wasn't so easily defeated.

Without a lot of funding, the Shromet Corporation tried to salvage the sales of the Dragon, and sell it at a loss, but the Dragon still lost out to the most part, to it's competition. the Shromet Corporation didn't have the funding to produce new models, so they had to struggle as a company until 1985, where their new car was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show, it was called the Shromet Mystic.

It was completely the opposite of what the Shromet Dragon was. It was a small, cheap economy car. It was sold off the lot new for 7000. It was not an exciting car by any means, but people in the future would later claim that it could go 150,000 miles without any major problems. It was powered by a 2.5, 4 Cylinder that couldn't even break 100 horsepower. It was boring, but it sold slightly better then the Mazda 323- I mean Ford Escort.

The Shromet Corporation saw an increase in profit thanks to the Mystic, But the Shromet Corporation thought that could increase their sales with minimal cost, with some variety to the Shromet Mystic. So, the Shromet Corporation created a Hatchback version of the Mystic, and called it the Shromet Mystic N-Joy.

The Base Model Mystic N-Joy had the same 2 and a half liter 4 cylinder that made 97 horsepower. But it was the Higher trim level N-Joy that managed to catch everybody's attention.

The Shromet Corporation Developed a new 1.6 Liter 4 Cylinder Engine that used a Honda Block. It Developed 152 Horsepower at 7500RPM. The Shromet Mystic N-Joy Got from 0-60 in 9.7 Seconds. It was Also 400 Pounds Lighter than the original Shromet Mystic, It also got much more impressive gas mileage, getting 28 Miles Per gallon Combined. The Shromet Mystic N-Joy Sold very Well. The Shromet Corporation was now in full business.

With The Shromet Corporation Now Financially Stable, the executives decided to venture into new experimental territory.

Thus, the Shomet Titan was born, an SUV that took ideas from many companies interpenetration of what an SUV was. It was Very obnoxiously big, Like A Chevrolet Suburban, and it had a luxurious interior and pretty decent off road capabilities like a Range Rover. It was also powered the same V8 that moved the Shromet Dragon. Surprisingly, For an SUV, it was quite light. Weighing only 3500 pounds. The executives Shromet Corporation where quite proud with themselves. They Managed to make an SUV with a very Luxurious interior and 7 seats for only 18,000. The Problem Arose with the build quality of the 15 year old V8. Which had several recalls, which had many issues with the Carburetor Fuel Injection, which caused the engine to prematurely wear and on very rare occasions, completely break down. The Shromet Corporation took a small hit, but didn't financially suffer.

The Shromet Corporation didn't try anything very risky for the next 2 years, but then, realizing how outdated they Shromet Mystic N-Joy was, decided to abandon the Mystic Name, and Make the Shromet N-Joy Be sold as under it's own name and styling.

The Shromet Mystic became lighter, and the front Wheel Drive was replaced with All wheel drive. The same 1.6 Liter 4 Cylinder was not changed drastically, as it was still quite good for it's time. Making 152 Horsepower at the higher 7500 RPM now.

The reason the Shromet Mystic N-Joy Sold so well in the first place was because of it's ability to be used as a fun little sports car, and an everyday driver, and those features where expanded upon even more. The Shromet N-Joy was Sportier then before, and had better fuel economy then before as well. The Shromet Corporation gave a very big budget for advertisement of this "Car of the Future." It payed off very well. In it's Launch year, the Shromet N-Joy sold 98,000 Units.

With the Shromet Corporation having the ability to almost Rival the Honda Civic for hatchback sales, the Shromet Corporation was feeling quite Confident. 2 years after the N-Joy Launched and the Shromet Engineers Returned from their vacation to Disneyworld, they where inspired to create a brand new family vehicle.

The Shromet Ambassador, as it was named, used a very similar Setup to the Shromet N-joy, from the same engine, to the same interior. The N-Joy Badge stitched into the seats was even an option on the Ambassador's Interior! The Shromet Ambassador was actually Slightly Cheaper then the N-Joy, but only by 200 dollars. The Shromet Ambassador was 400 Pounds Heavier then the N-Joy. It Didn't sell quite as well as the N-Joy, but Shromet was basically costing off their own fame at this point.

The Year is Now 1998. With Mid-Size becoming more relevant, like the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, The Shromet Corporation Wanted to cash in on this expansion.

The Shromet Corporation produced their own Mid Size Sedan to enter the market. It was called the Shromet Mystic. (Codenamed RDUX in production)

The Lead Designer for the Shromet Mystic (RDUX) wrote the mission statement for this car. he said: "The Past is something you can never truly abandon, but you can make the past right, and complete." The Shromet Mystic, when it launched in 1999, sold for 14,500. Severely undercutting the competitors. Despite this, the Shromet Mystic Failed to meet sales projections, selling only modestly. But the Shromet Corporation had an ace up it's sleeve for the New York international Auto show that year.

The 1999 New York International Auto Show "Rolled Around" Shromet Corporation managed to secure a modest sized booth to make their "Big Reveal" as the rumor was spreading among car enthusiasts.

the CEO of Shromet Corporation made the announcement, saying with the turn of the century, he planned to shift the focus of the Shromet Corporation. Making an all new logo for the company, and a new tagline. "The Soul of a dragon, The performance of the best." To accompany this shift into more performance based market, he announced that Shromet Corporation would take part in National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) in 2003, and, he announced their newest car, the Shromet X-Type.

The Shromet X-Type would be the company's first Mid-Engined car. It used the same Honda Based 4 Cyllinder, which the CEO of the Shromet corporation said: "Had been given some extra umph" It was now a 1.8 Liter engine, making 172 Horsepower.

The CEO said that this car certainly was fast, but they had "Something even more impressive" only to reveal when the car launched in the year 2000.

The Shromet X-Type Launched with the turn of the century, the base model X-Type only sold for 15,500 USD, and got from 0-60 at the same time the only mid engined car it was rivaling. The 1996 Toyota MR2, which got from 0-60 in 6.1 Seconds. The Shromet X-Type also had the best gas mileage for the company too. it Got 33 Miles per gallon city.

The Shromet Corporation had something even more impressive though. They had added a turbo to their 1.8 Litre Honda based 4 cyllinder, and sold the car on a different Trim level. It was Called the Shromet X-Type "Turbo Speed" This small mid engined car made 244 Horsepower at 6800 RPM.

This Car got from 0-60 in Just 4.8 Seconds, and it only weighed 2,220 Pounds. The Shromet Corporation even invested in Variable Valve Timing to mimic Honda's "V-Tec".
This Car Quickly Escalated Shromet Racing's Sales. In it's launch year, the Shromet X-Type Sold almost 200,000 units. The Shromet Corporation's New found success would be sadly, short lived.

The Year is 2001, With the Runaway success of the Shromet X-type, Shromet Felt as though they where on top of the world. There was an issue though, and it arose in the year 2001, only a year after the car launched. The Shromet X-type Retailed as a loss leader, The Mid engined, cheap car, was a very risky ground as it was, and the Shromet Corporation was trying to create a mid engine car that could also be sold as a commuter car, and wanted to make more people comfortable with purchasing a mid engine car. The base model Shromet X-type Retailed at 12,000 USD. That was cheaper then a honda accord at the time. The massive problem arose when people started, in how people treated their cars. They where cheap, and fun. So drivers had no remorse for pushing their car to it's limits. A Survey found that Shromet X-types where wrecked 38% More Often then any other car at the time. The car, in order to remain cheap, did not have the most cutting edge safety mechanisms. Where do you think people turned when they got injured in Wrecks involving their Shromet X-Type? Here's a hint. It wasn't the insurance companies.



Needless to say, the Shromet Corporation Lost hundreds of millions of dollars in lawyer payments, settlements, and legal fees over the Shromet X-Type.

The CEO said he was determined, now more then ever, to make the Shromet X-type successful. His employees called him a Stubborn Fool. The CEO took this Criticism, and formed it into the Company's new Slogan.

With The 2002 Geneva Auto Show Rolling Around, Shromet Made Quite a big deal about their new and improved Shromet X-type. But didn't unveil it until the Show, "We May have been down, but we where certainly not out. Said the CEO at the announcement. They Revealed Their 4th Generation Stock Car, and made a surprising announcement by saying that they would also be making their own race team, Sponsored By Freightliner Trucks. After that, the CEO walked off stage, and the new car was unveiled.

The New Car, as the lead designer said, was quite a big deal to the Shromet Corporation, It showed how willing their where to fight for a machine they wanted to create, and didn't listen to anything Journalists and officials said. He went on about all the new safety features that would prevent injury in this car, and said that Despite these new modifications, The Shromet X-Type Second Gen only weighed 2600 Pounds, and could still get to 60 MPH in 6.2 Seconds. Plus, He claimed it got 30 Miles per Gallon City.

The Turbo Version Would Still Be Available, but would be revealed later. The Shromet Corporation did show off the improved engine for the naturally aspirated Shromet X-type however.

The Shromet Corporation Said that they had more information on the X-type being leaked at the New York International Auto Show that year.

In Almost a Month, The New York International Auto Show "Rolled Around", and the Shromet Corporation Revealed their final pieces of information on the next year's X-Type.

The "X Trims" where making a return as well. Although the Shromet Corporation said that they planned to reach for a "More Prestigious Market" then before, a nice way of saying this car was gonna be way more expensive. The Shromet X-type "Turbo X" Was powered by the same 2.0 Liter TV (The Shromet Corporation's name for Variable Valve timing) that made 283 Horsepower now. It had a lightweight Hand Made Aluminum Body, and Lightweight Sport Interior, it only weighed 2300 pounds. Allowing it to get from 0-60 In 4.6 Seconds, and it completed the quarter mile in 12.7 Seconds. Shromet Happily announced that this would also be the first car they had ever made to go around the Nurburgring in under 9 Minutes. With the official time Being 8:45.91

Shromet Marketed The X-type all over the world when it launched in 2003, the same year they entered Nascar. Their First Year However, their 1 car finished 17th in the points standings. The Shromet X-type Second gen, in it's first year, sold 103,000 Units. Not close to the sales of the Original X-type. But still very impressive.

The Year Is 2005, Smack Dab In the middle of the Iraq Oil Crisis. Gas Prices are getting more expensive by the day, already the average gas price is and outrageous $ 2.15 a gallon, who knows how high it will continue to rise?

and on paper, Shromet had Just built what sounded like their most advanced car in history. It was a Dual Overhead Cam, 5 Valve per cyllinder engine, with direct fuel injection, forged from an alluminum block, designed by a third party company, specifically for this car! how much horsepower did it make? 31 Horsepower, and 42 pound feet of torque. Welcome to the Shromet Fio.

With Hybrids Moving being purchased for fuel economy, the Stubborn CEO simply refused to believe that electric was the future of the car. He told his engineers to develop a car that was petrol only, and could get farther on a full tank of gas then any hybrid on the market, and the Shromet Fio was what they came up with. It got an impressive 85 Miles Per Gallon Combined! it could also be fully manufactured and sold on the lot for 15,000! Like all the hybrids however, it certainly did not come without drawbacks. In order to increase fuel economy, Shromet Co. Had to put on hard long life road tires, and make them "Slightly Wider Then Bicycle Wheels" Accord to one automotive reporter. The Combination of this meant that the Shromet Fio needed to be driven incredibly slowly around corners. That was Okay Though! The car took 25 Seconds just to get from 0-60, so nobody had to worry about going too fast. In the Launch year, 2005, Shromet sold 57,000 Units of the FEO. Shromet's sales also quicky declined on the X-type, as more and more people where moving away from buying mid-engine, cheap cars.

About one month before the time of the New York International Auto Show 2006, When Shromet Usually made their big announcements, The Company Filed for Bankruptcy. They seemed to be unable to sell cars. Their Current Lineup Consisted of the Shromet Mystic, Which never hit projected Sales, and the sales getting worse by the year, the Shromet Ambassador, Which struggled to hold it's own against competitors such as the Dodge Caravan, and the Ford Freestar. The Shromet X-type, Which was failing to sell, as less and less people where buying mid engine cars, as they where deemed unsafe as daily drivers, the Company's only car that could hit it's projected sales regularly was the Shromet N-Joy. Which was the only thing keeping the company from going under. The Shromet Fio was selling, but could only barely make a profit. The Shromet Corporation had one last desperate trick up their sleeve. The Shromet Corporation Unveiled their new car at the New York International Auto Show 2006, they unveiled their Newest, and possibly Last car. They where bringing back the Shromet Dragon.

The redesigned Shromet Dragon shared many similarities with the previous dragon back in 1975. It Would come with two engine choices, an all new 4 Liter naturally Aspirated, Crossplane V8, Making 505 Horsepower at 8700RPM.

It Also Came in a 4.0 Liter Turbo Charged version, that made 770 Horsepower at 8700 RPM.

The Shromet Dragon was originally set to launch in 2007, but for fear the company may not make it that long, it was being launched that fall, the base model's MSRP was $43,000
