Re: Mad Max

Here is my creation! It does yet have a name but thats not important.

I used a 70's body on a 90's ladder frame (allowed for longitudinal AWD) and a 2015 415cid Crate Motor.

The frame and body are steel, mcpherson struts and rear coils were chosen to be simple, easy to repair and suitable for off roading. The car is not light, weighting almost 3000lbs, however it is not slow. 0-100km is accomplished in 4.5 seconds on knobby offroad tires. The top speed is 250kmph and the quarter mile is accomplished in 12.78 seconds.

The engine is a 415CID carbeurated Twin Turbo v8. It produces 465hp and 478ft.lbs the power curve is very smooth, with no almost turbo lag/peak. Carbeurators are much more easily repaired then EFI, especially when parts and clean fuel are scarce. It runs on 95 octane fuel. With a 5 speed manual transmission the car averages 17.1 miles per Gallon US. The dual exhaust has no cat's and only a single glass pack to keep the interior drone down. A six speed yielded a quicker 0-100 time, but added a considerable amount of wheel spin, something that is not very desirable when off-roading on loose terrain.

The vehicle would be used as a light assault/pursuit vehicle, being just as much of a battering ram as a vehicle. All of the lights are protected with metal reinforcement. Additonal Reinforcement can be seen on the doors. The interior is as spartan as it comes, with no entertainment system what-so-ever. With only basic driver assists the vehicle is very reliable, and quick to repair when on the fury road.

Re: Mad Max

Having just watched it again I have lied. Boss Joe's double Cadillac truck has turbos, either dual or quad. So carry on.

Re: Mad Max

Even the second (classic) movie had turbo engines in it.
