Cugnot motors

This thread is for Cugnot Motors, an amalgamation of many french brands into one cockatil that one must pay attention to to catch the references

the first car To post id the Cugnot 25, a medium sized sedan that is basically the underpinning of a previous car, just with a new body, the only engine available is a small v8 that can trace its origins back to the 1930's USA

The car features a new 5 speed transmission a revised engine, and hydropneumatic suspension, which is a staple of the brand.

Re: Cugnot motors

That's a nice, simple design. I like it! 101hp seems underpowered for a V8 though. What are the torque numbers?

Definitely. That seems more like something you'd get from a reasonably tuned i4.

Re: Cugnot motors

Well Cugnot has two letters each from Citroen,Peugeot & Renault (what, no Simca?) And sort of sounds like them all maxed together. Renault had a model called the 25 in the 80s.
Hydropneumatic suspension was a characteristic of Citroen for years.

Re: Cugnot motors

Cugnot is the surname of the guy who made the first "car" http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicolas-Joseph_Cugnot

the V8 is a simca v8which is a derivate from the small flathead ford v8, and its named with a number, just a like an old renault

Re: Cugnot motors

I didn't realise it was only a 2.5L v8, should have guessed though being called "25." I know it's hard to get much power out of a small capacity v8 without turboing, too.
I ran into the same issue when making the 2.2L v8 for my Rigeli roadster.
