Borg Motors

Borg Motors is an american vehicle manufacturer founded in 1967, with hope to make some decent muscle cars. BM also planned to make sedans, vans, and pickup trucks. BM prefered DOHC due to it producing more power. It costed quite a bit, but the large amount of sales made up for that.

1968 Borg Vorgie

In 1968, Borg released a 452 V8 Muscle car, producing 309 horsepower and 362 foot lbs of torque. Although the fuel economy was not great, as it only got 14.4 US MPG. It had a 4 speed manual. The Vorgie did have a rivalry with the Calavante, but both cars pretty much got the same amount of sales. It went on sale for $4,000(US). It ended production in 1974.

Re: Borg Motors

Pretty nice design of this lime thingy! :D
I was afraid when I was first looking at the car that you will kill it like Pacer (fitting V8 in it), but hopefully, no.
BTW. This chrome grille in '85 looks outdated to me, but I'm european, so... :p

EDIT. Checked my cars thread and it's nice competitor for my Airborne Xy GT.

Re: Borg Motors

I digress, for a massive 60's V8 running carbs, 14 US MPG is considered good.

However one thing I've noticed is that you're using DOHC technology, which was basically non-existent in the US at those times save for a few examples. You might wanna write us a little background story, could make for an interesting tale as to why BM had such advanced tech(as far as US cars go) at the time. :)

I also feel like the Vorgie would probably compete against the early Willow Calavante in the obscure manufacturers portion of the sports/muscle car market.

Re: Borg Motors

In 1989, Borg released a crossover very similar to the pickup. It's V8 produced 360 horsepower and 413 ft-lbs of torque. For an unknown reason, Borg didn't use the same engine in the pickup and the crossover.

1980 Borg T1500 Crossover

In 1980, Borg released a crossover very similar to the pickup. It's V8 produced 360 horsepower and 413 ft-lbs of torque. For an unknown reason, Borg didn't use the same engine in the pickup and the crossover. It had the same price as the pickup. Like the pickup, the crossover has a 4 speed manual transmission.
