Continental Motor Comapny

The Continental Motor Company is founded in 1941 and it's founded by Reynolds Leyland which is a engineer who left the Cadillac Motor Company and get his savings from the bank of $35,000 to make his own company at Chicago.
Image
And first he bought a warehouse at 1940 for $10,000 and made it to a factory.and made his office in it.
Image
And at the same time he finished the factory and start mass producing military engines, tanks, vesicles, and jeeps in World War II.
And he established his company in 1941 and he made the Continental Motors Logo.
Image
At 1946 he made a whopping $100,000 from military contract and set out to make his first car called the Versailles and also he always wanted to build a handcrafted high-end luxury car.His first car was the Versailles which is handcrafted and meant to compete with Lincoln and Cadillac.
Image
Image
And made a V8 engine with a fighter aircraft from scratch
Image
And it's Powered by a 5.0L Crossplane 32 Valve SOHC V8 which made 271 Horsepower which had 16 MPG that can be powered by regular leaded fuel.
And the whole car costs $17,1360.80 USD. And it outsold Lincoln and Cadillac and It was successful and Ford and GM was jealous of Continental Motors.

Re: Continental Motor Comapny

At the 1950's the Company says the 1949 has been outdated and made a new look and called it the signature look. And the 50 is improved over 49.And now there is a new improved bigger and more powerful engine and looks.
Image
Image
And now it's $18,3039.56 and it also had better Economy of 17 MPG.
Image
And it has a new 8.0L Crossplane 32V SOHC V8 which produced 493HP and it can also run on regular fuel.

Re: Continental Motor Comapny

But Cadillac and Lincoln are now entry level Luxury-Car makers and the Continental Motor Company made the Capriccio and the Bariva which are mass produced but not the Versallies.
The Capriccio is meant to compete with the High-End Models.
Image
Image
And it had a improved engine from the old 1949 Versailles but the power is weaker bit it had a better economy of 20 MPG.
Image
And Barvia is meant to compete with the Entry-Level Models
Image
Image
And it has a powerful but reliable 3.5L Crossplane 32V SOHC V8 and it can run on regular fuel too also it had a good economy of 24.5 MPG.
Image
And there is a section of the factories where the Versallies is handcrafted and the massproduction section where the Capriccio and the Barvia is made.
And there is no space for the factory for the office and Henry Leyland bought a office for his headquarters
Image
And exported Versailles to Britain for £116452.59 for the car.

Re: Continental Motor Comapny

I have a few suggestions.

Company is spelled wrong in the title.
Also, these numbers:
$17,1360.80

$18,3039.56

...don't make any sense.

Apart from that, good start. I like the pictures and the story so far. Keep it going. But yea, definitely fix those numbers... and the title.

Re: Continental Motor Comapny

Thanks and the reason why it's that price because they are actually a small independent company like Packard,Hudson,Nash, and Studebaker and the reason why they are more expensive because the big three "Ford.General Motors, and Chrysler" can make more cars so they have a cheaper price.

Re: Continental Motor Comapny

I'm not criticizing the price. You're free to set the price however you want. The problem I have is with the number formatting. :D

There are only suppose to be 3 digits MAX between commas... you have 4.

$17,1360.80

$18,3039.56

Most of the pictures don't display for me. Good start to the company story though. :)

Re: Continental Motor Comapny

Like the story. As for feedback, pretty much all of the above. Company spelled wrong, images dont work and prices look funny. Keep up the good work nevertheless!

Re: Continental Motor Comapny

But in 1955 the Continental Motor Company is bought by Chrysler and sales were bad and had no time to put new models in production.
Image
And used the office building as scratch and also used the factories to produce Chrysler Cars.

Hey, Pikaplayer. I couldn't help but notice this thread, and I honestly really like what you're doing here. And a 500 hp sports/luxury sedan in 1950? No doubt that would have blown away nearly every competitor on the road, and might even give Ferrari a run for their money! 8-) :D
