Cottam Auto Group

Cottam Auto Group was established in 1966. The company was very profitable and going well, but their only production factory in the Isle of Man was completely wiped out by a major tornado. (Which is funny because there is absolutely NO tornadoes on the Isle of Man, but for the good of the back story, I'm sticking with it.) And so the plans for existing and future models were destroyed and Cottam Auto Group were forced to halt production in the late 70's.

The company has now been started up again by Aaron Cottam - Grandson of founder Alan Cottam.

I have a few designs planned, will post pictures and stats as and when i finalize each design.

Each model will be put into a certain performance category based on priorities such as comfort, ride quality, and performance.

Each category is as follows: (NOTE: Equipment listed is available on ALL MODELS, based on category)

R: The ultimate in performance and speed. Compromised on interior and equipment, only includes the essentials. Stripping away as much weight as possible to produce savage, bank-breaking track monsters. (NOTE: Road legal unless specified)

GT: Heavily tilted towards speed. Basic equipment as standard, Cottam C-Drive (our ground-breaking trip computer, with more power than Bill Gates' back pocket!) available on certain GT models. Often compromises luxury and comfort for speed and cornering traits. Ultimate poster-cars, unleash your inner ten year-old and push your GT model to the edge!

DX: Provides enough power to get you from point A to point B with a smile across your face, with little compromise to ride quality and comfort. Features stiffer suspension and sport compound tyres, contrary to that of lower classes

N: The flagship family class. A perfect balance between power and comfort, with enough space for a dinner party! Economical engines provide supreme Co2 reduction and great value for money.

LX: The greatest in luxury engineering. The lush interior in LX models make these cars a lovely place to sit. The priority is pure luxury and supreme comfort. Cottam C-Drive comes as standard on all LX models (Inc. all standard equipment and massage seats available on request for a small fee) Show the public your tranquil side with an LX model, virtually noiseless, and with the technology that will satisfy any tech savvy business master!

XX: Luxury cars with big, beefy engines. Designed to compete with the likes of Bentley and Jaguar, these models are not cheap by any means.

B: Simplified, no fuss. B class models have all the basics you could ever need from a car. Safe, cheap, takes you where you need to go without any faffing around. Perfect for a first car, a budget car, or if you just don't like technology.

Basic equipment as standard: Stereo, electric windows and electric seats. Optional extras: Sat-nav, bluetooth connectivity, Cottam C-Drive Technology only for GT class models and lower, all equipment available unless specified.)
NOTE: NONE of the above equipment is available for R class models. Sat-nav available on request for certain road-legal R models.

Feedback is welcome! I'm still very new to this so any suggestions and constructive criticism is welcome and encouraged. Also, if you have anything you want me to check out, feel free to hit me up on this thread, or PM me.

My first finalized design, I introduce the Cottam E5. An eco-friendly family and business sedan, with a generous 308hp, it packs a punch. A perfect example of speed and comfort working in perfect harmony, with many gadgets and gismos to make life easier on any kind of journey.

With a modern and sensible design, the Cottam E5 certainly doesn't look as drab as the average Joe may expect, and will really turn some heads with it's impressive top speed of over 161 mph. Cottam C-Drive is available as an optional extra but has sat-nav and bluetooth connectivity as standard.

Now, for a very special design for Cottam Auto Group.

I bring to you, the Cottam E5 GTS, a special GT class version of the original E5. Savagely tuned by Smolensk Tuning (That's the 'S' in 'GTS'), with speed and power pushed to the absolute limit without compromise. The original 308hp engine has been replaced by Smolensk's own Smolensk M engine, and the car now produces over 500hp! This 4.4L beast propels the car from 0-60 in under 3 seconds and right on to over 190mph. That's supercar territory and you know it. It gets there through a 7-speed double clutch gearbox, and it can stop as fast that of hitting a tree, 62mph to a standstill in just 30m! You may think that all this speed would be expensive to run, but the power boost had had little impact on the car's economy. It can still do up to 25.1mpg, so it's not as bank-breaking as you may think. The premium speed doesn't come as a premium price either. All this rage costs you just £80,000!
The masters at Smolensk Tuning have also given the body a facelift, with angry pointed headlights and cooling and aerodynamic improvements.

NOTE: Sat-nav is the ONLY optional extra, available at a £1000 fee. Cottam C-Drive unavailable.

Smolensk tuning have certainly done a brilliant job of turning this moderately quick family sedan into a fire breathing speed demon. They excel in all kinds of tuning, from a minor bump-up to a total rebuild, highly recommend them.

The latest model from Cottam Auto Group - the Cottam Libre B. Perfect for any 17 year-old's first car. Economical, cheap, safe and enough speed to keep you on your toes.

The 1.4L engine in this model produces a tame, but not boring 120hp. Coupled with a top speed of 120mph, it's a nippy little machine when you need it to be.
With sensible style and safe fun, it's the complete package.

Think the Cottam Libre is too drab for your liking? Willing to let your 17-year-old drive very quickly into a tree? Look no further than the Cottam Libre DX Smolensk!
Any boy racer's dream, this special DX model comes with the same 1.4L engine. Only with this version, Smolensk Tuning have managed to squeeze an extra 20hp from it resulting an a 0-60 time of just over 7 seconds and a top speed of 123mph. Along with mean styling and an extra exhaust, what more could a 17-year-old ask for?

Another Smolensk Tuning marvel coming up now.. A new and improved version of the improved version of the Cottam Libre - the Cottam Libre Rally Smolensk (RS)
The car looks identical to the Libre DX Smolensk, but that's where the similarities end. This new extremely beefed-up DX comes with Smolensk's own Smolensk RSE engine; producing a whopping 350hp! And forget the 'nippy hatchback' top speed of 123mph, and try 163mph for size. A 6-speed double clutch gearbox takes the car from 0-60 in under 3 seconds thanks to it's extremely light body weighing in at just 786kg. Not for the faint-hearted by any means.

Yesterday I uncovered plans for a 1969 luxury family sedan near the old company factory, replicated in the present day, here is the Cottam Didara LX.
With ground-breaking massaging seats and elegant wood interior, the Didara is a lovely place to be.

I really like the Didara! Love the shape and that boxy old look.
Also a nice engine to go with it. Not too big, and yet enough HP for that car.

Now the body looks great for car of that time, but the 62hp won't help if you really have a family to move. So what if you put it on steroids? Honestly, this would be the ideal sleeper car because noone would expect this to have a 300+hp V8 under the hood!

Greets,
Tom

Haha, I might have to use that engine and create a beefed-up version then :)

In 1972, Cottam Auto Group was set to launch It's beefed-up bigger brother of the Cottam Didara. The Didara RX. Designed for rallycross, this R model of the Didara features a completely new engine manufactured by TheTom before the days of DQE, this 5.25L Sleeper engine allows the car to pump out 309hp. That, coupled with chunky off-road tyres and a sophisticated 4WD system makes this a force to be reckoned with in the rallycross scene, with a number of wins already in the 1972 World Rallycross Championship, it's a proven track competitor.
NOTE: Is road legal.

Im sorry, but the front made me laugh a litle. Looks a bit like a piggy, haha! But I like the idea behind it though! I see what you were trying to do.

Yeah haha, I just thought the front looked a little bare, and that's all I could think of to put there besides a badge :)

Now, the newest motoring marvel to be brought out of Cottam Auto Group, the Lusso XX. A performance luxury sedan much like the E5 GTS, designed to compete against the Bentley Continental GT and Jaguar sedans. The Lusso features a 4.0L engine designed by Engines on Demand (EoD), and it's a power-meets-economy masterpiece, with a staggering 608hp taking the car from 0-60 in just over 4 seconds, and right on to 192mph! Despite all this power, the Lusso remains luxurious, with a lush leather interior and chrome trim, finished in natural brown, it's not a scary place to sit in the slightest. There are no optional extras available on this model, but that's because everything comes as standard. Even Cottam C-Drive!
The sheer power that comes from EoD's 608hp beast is enough for any car enthusiast to want to buy this, but with supreme elegance, it makes the Cottam Lusso XX complete.
