Re: TheTom's car designs

Here comes my hypercar, i call it the peregrine (cause the peregrine is the fastest bird and my sports coupes already have names of birds).

There will be 4 different V8s for it: a 6.2 NA, a 6.2 TT, an 8.0 NA and an 8.0 TT. The 8.0s will be replaced by V12s as soon as V12s are out because with the V12s i would need shorter strokes to achieve the same capacity, meaning i could rev the engine higher. The 6.2 NA makes 711hp @7000RPM and 734Nm of torque. The 6.2 TT already makes over 1000hp and 1300+ Nm. The 8.0 NA makes 905hp and 935 Nm (and has an MTBF of over 75000km, i have no idea why lol). Last but definitely not least: the 8.0 TT makes 1600hp and 1800+ Nm of torque. The aim is, obviously, a faster top speed than the Bugatti Veyron (including the upcoming most powerful version of it that they announced).

Re: TheTom's car designs

Some nice stuff in here, with some crazy engines!

You need a hot hatch, but put as light an engine as possible in it and make it fly.

Re: TheTom's car designs

I got a hot hatch, it's called the Mantis ^^ you can find it on the 3rd page in this thread. It'll have some pretty standard engines and then a 3.0 I6T with 450hp as its top-end engine. It's gonna fly for sure :)

We can't have two manufacturers making cars whose models are named after birds. My company (Lystex) has all of its models planned and all of them are named after birds of prey. The Harrier, Osprey and Falcon have been confirmed and the Hawk, Vulture, Eagle, Owl, Peregrine etc are all planned! Now what do we do about it!? I am sure that it isn't a big problem but I don't want too many models having names in common with mine and I am pretty sure it is the same with you.

Anyway, keep up the good work!

Re: TheTom's car designs

I think it won't be a big problem because 1) basically our cars don't REALLY exist, it's just a game. 2) only my coupes (and one 4-door sedan based on one of them) have names of birds of prey, others have other names, and 3) i only have 3 coupes and don't really plan on doing more cause there would be no point. I have one for the masses (the Eagle), one for fun (the Buzzard) and one for high-end speed (the Peregrine).
So just go on and choose whatever name you want for your car, i don't have a problem with it :)

Re: TheTom's car designs

An new hot hatch, i call it the Dragonfly. It was designed to take performance figures of this class to a new level.

This has its own 2.0 I6t with 300hp, a 2.5 I6T with 366hp and a 3.0 I6T with 456hp. Oh, and you can also have a 4.0 V8 TT with 600hp from ~6800-8000 RPM, and it would actually fit in this car cause it would be just as long as a 2.0 I4T, only twice as wide. The V8 runs on 98 RON, the I6s on 95 octane fuel, and the V8 is actually quite economical for the power it delivers, and it has almost 70000km of MTBF. In the attachments you can find the V8, hope you enjoy :)

Re: TheTom's car designs

Here's another coupe of mine, and it would be some sort of sports GT, maybe i'll remove the air vents from the bonnet but overall i think it looks quite neat, i especially like it in black, so i might call it the Black Harrier:

the back-end is relatively simple but i think with the current fixtures the back will look much better if you keep it simple. Anyway, this will be powered by a 6.2L V8, the same that you get in the Peregrine. It makes 711hp and 734Nm and still has very nice MTBF and the economy isn't that bad for the power you get. Hope you enjoy :)

Re: TheTom's car designs

Update: I changed the Dragonfly's looks significantly. Well, the front end looks similar but that's intended, with the biggest difference being that the bonnet is now higher. The basic shape, however, has been changed, especially the back end. Before, it looked somewhat like an Audi A3 in the side profile, and i didn't want that. So now the shape of the rear end is somewhat like the Mantis', but that's okay with me cause the Mantis is my own car ^^ Enough talking, here's the new design:

As you can see, the back end is also completely redesigned. I wasn't really happy with the way the old car looked. But now i like it, i hope you enjoy it too :)

By the way, thanks everyone for visiting my thread! I will very soon hit 1500 views (maybe i already have while posting this), i hope you guys like my designs and i might also do requests and stuff. If you like my work and want me to design a car of a specific type for you, i will do it. But only new designs, i'm not good at building replicas of already existing cars. PM me if you have a request for me and tell me what kind of car you want :) (same goes for engines!!!)

Re: TheTom's car designs

Update: I reworked the Eagle HP's 5.5L TT V8 engine because well... i thought it needed more power xD But in all seriousness, i found another 100hp (or 99, to be precise) without sacrificing any of its MTBF and without making it (even) less economical and it still runs on 95 RON. I'm starting to get the hang of turbo finetuning :)
I also decided to replace the I6T engines in the Dragonfly with equally big I4T engines. I managed to get more power than before while maintaining the same level of reliability and economy (not REAL fuel economy, but you get what i'm saying). The reason i did this is because the Dragonfly is a compact car and an I4T fits better because it takes less space than the I6T which is a lot longer.

Re: TheTom's car designs

Greetings, petrolheads! This is the Mantis HP! And as standard, it comes with this exact colour, "Mantis green"!

Edit: here are the two available engines for the Mantis HP!
First, a 2.5L high-revving NA V8:

Ladies and gentleman, i proudly present you the Mantis Coupe!

This will be a competitor for the BMW 1 series coupe (or 2 series coupe, as they'll call it from 2014 on).

I also have created a new hatchback, the Hornis.

Cheap and simple, this will be a choice for families of low or average income.

The Hornis front carries an uncanny resemblance to new Mustangs.

Re: TheTom's car designs

This is the Royal, an upperclass saloon. It'll have 3 different V8s, a 6.0, a 6.5 and a 7.0, all NA and all make over 100Nm/litre, over 85000km MTBF and less than 300g/kWh.

Edit: updated the look of the back end

This is the Flea, a tiny hatch for driving through cities.

This car will have a range of I4T engines, from 0.75 to 2.25L in .25L steps. All of them are tuned to be very economical. The 1.5L for example makes 97hp and over 34% efficiency. I hope you enjoy :)

Re: TheTom's car designs

I decided to redesign the Peregrine because its first design didn't allow for big grills on the front because there was just not enough space. Now though, it looks like this:
