RESIST THE EVIL FORCES OF ECO WARRIORS!Our story now brings up back to the little shack in the woods where our brave resistance warriors have fled from the eco revolution.
They now live in an alternate reality where there is no oil crisis. There are no speed limits. There are no hippies to fight their
just cause of building the most INSANE GAS GUZZLING MONSTER MUSCLE CAR the world has ever seen! So begins the adventure of a lifetime.
Our trio of mentally deranged petrolheads set out to fight the hippies and bring the world to it knees.
Sherman "Big Block" Bravado - named after his unhealthy hunger for cubic inches. Still occasionally wearing his old straight jacket, he's a man you don't mess with.
Mike "Surge" Adams - named after his turbocharging knowledge. Previously worked at Rotomaster, now is a pure propellerhead turbo maniac who even dreams in PSI.
Carl "Hammer" Smith - named after his tool of choice, Carl is the bodywork wizard who in his youth built an aluminum replica of a '32 Ford Deuce Coupe. Has a filthy outfit and equally filthy language.
To fight the ecologic revolution, our heroes decide a
SCIENTIFIC approach is in order. They only have Sherman's tired '70 Chevelle SS, a heap of metal junk and big old tools to work with. After the first experiments involving an old LS6 engine, nitromethane and a very big explosion, they spend the entire night in the shed doing complex calculations and developing the ultimate "speed formula".
Here's what they came up with:

After blowing up the Chevelle big block, our heroes had a problem. Luckily a local Pontiac dealer had a couple of spare '73 Pontiac 455 Super Duty big block engines lying around. One night they went mysteriously missing. Week after week of experiments, the Patriots started having some results. They threw away the "puny" standard carburetor and the "pitiful" stock crankshaft. Soon a dual tunnel ram intake manifold had two 500 cfm 4-bbl Carters bolted on and a big plenum on top. A forged "stroker" crank was fitted, bringing the total capacity to 476 CID. Twin Rotomaster turbos came off a local tuned Kenworth whose owner wasn't too happy about this. Mike welded up a 4-feet wide intercooler at his leisure. In a couple of months a test mule was ready. The new "
Big Hammer" engine was fitted to a highly modified Chevelle frame. But there was a problem. The car was too slow. It could barely beat a supercharged Cuda at the drag strip.
More science would follow. After another night and a lot of Budweiser beer this is the second ground-breaking formula our team came up with:

Carl would channel his mania into hammering up an aluminum body to be carried by the modified Chevelle shell. It took a while to finish, but the result made everyone very happy. Now they could claim PERFORMANCE for real! Until the Chev's 4-speed manual box exploded that is. The engine now making 800+ lb-ft of torque, they needed something beefy to replace it. A GM TH400 was chosen and mated up with a tall Hurst shifter for maximum sexual feel.
In August 1975 the car was ready for release. Funding for production machinery came from Sherman's dad who apparently was "a bank robber or sumthin". Frames were still based on the Chevelle design but were now built in-house.
To help lift 'Murica from fear and depression, our team, now called
PATRIOT marketed the car with cartoon style ads:
